Hair & Makeup: Suzy Henningsgard
Meghan and I met through our mutual friend Suzy (the amazingly awesome girl who does my hair and that I love to hang out with at shows and parties). We've spent all summer trying to coordinate all three of our schedules to be able to do a shoot together (on a day that WASN'T raining...the weather here this summer has been ridiculous) and we were FINALLY able to do it last Thursday! It was humid and gloomy all day long, but we tried to make the best of it.

Waterbury, Connecticut. This is my granddaughter Erin's cousin Meghan who's a little over a year old. Yesterday at Erin's 7th birthday party Meghan knew she had all of the adults in her pocket and played it well.

my best friend, meghan
december 2008.
For all you hair people: It was supposed to be a brownish purple, but unfortunately, as her hair color was brown, it ended up being a nice strawberry delight color :). My mistake! She didn't like it at all but I thought she looked as cute as a dumpling.

HER HAIR IS DARK BLACK NOW
My second upload from nefg2013. This is the lovely Meghan Garven from the third day of the gathering when we all visited the abandoned house not far from Sarah's home.
It was incredible seeing everyone spring into action and start shooting. I saw this torn down wallpaper and immediately knew I had to use it. This room was so dark, but the window behind it was creating the most beautiful backlight, and I wanted to make it feel like a room full of wonder.

dream series (6/?)
older photo of meghan.
i remember those nights when i'd lay in bed drowned in sheets like waves drown the ocean floors. my eyes were closed as I you can running through my head. All those memories replayed in my head like a television series. here comes your voice, haunting my dreams. this doesn't happen often, just every night of every day of every week. i don't know how to tell you, but you are the chosen one.
Every time I photograph this girl, I have a new favorite shoot. TOO many favorites means there are much more to come! :) View this set in it's entirety on the blog!

For October's block in The Bee in my Bonnet Meghan asked for a 12.5" Christmas block and provided a variety of red and green fabrics.
This is a paper-pieced Christmas village (I bought the pattern from this shop.) It was a bit tedious to make because of the many pieces but was not that difficult. I'm very happy with how it turned out. I added the star to the top of one of the trees because I was worried that it wasn't Christmassy enough!
