'Infernopolis' is Atelier van Lieshout's latest exhibition taking place at an abandoned
submarine wharf in Rotterdam, Netherlands. organized by the Port of Potterdam and
the Museum Boijmans van Beuningen, this inaugural exhibition addresses issues that
are central to Atelier van Lieshout’s practice including autonomy, self-sufficiency, power
and the economy. in the submarine wharf, with an area of almost 5000m2,
Atelier van Lieshout, established by the Rotterdam-based artist Joep van Lieshout in
1995 – is exhibiting two immense installations and a forest of sculptures. together these
elements form a terrifying setting in which the leading role is played by medical instruments,
vacuum pumps, flayed bodies, human excrement, giant sperm cells and bodily organs. Heijplaat, Rotterdam, the Netherlands.

SS Cosmas and Damian 3rd century, were twin brothers who embraced Christianity and practised medicine and surgery without a fee. These Arab physicians and early Christian martyrs practised their profession in the seaport of Aegeae, in the Roman province of Cilicia (now Türkiye). They were arrested by Lysias, governor of Cilicia during the Diocletian (r.284-305) persecution because of their faith and fame as healers. Their younger brothers, Anthimus, Leontius and Euprepius, shared in their martyrdom.

Đôi lúc tự hỏi ko hiểu tại sao mình chọn công việc này. Cũng ko biết nữa. Mà nếu có chọn lại, mình cũng ko biết liệu mình có chọn nó nữa ko?
Từ lúc tốt nghiệp cấp 3, bước chân vào trường Y, chọn chuyên ngành, thi nội trú, rồi vào BV này, mọi thứ cứ như tự đến, cứ như được sắp xếp trước, mình cứ thế mà bước, hình như cũng chẳng chọn lựa gì.
Nghĩ lại, mình có tiếc vì những điều đã trải qua ko? Có lẽ là ko, một công việc buồn nhiều hơn vui, nhưng những trải nghiệm mình đã có, những cảm xúc đã nếm qua, mình tin mình đã nếm nhiều dư vị cuộc sống, và với mình điều đó thật đáng trân quí.
Sometime I ask myself about my career. Why I chose medical doctor as my job? No idea ;). If I had another choice, would I have chosen it again? No idea too :). A stream of milestone, graduation from high school, entering Medical school, choosing my major, internship, and now working in this hospital....and what later? Everything seems spontaneous, and I only went step by step without any attention.
Now, do I have any regret for everything I have passed those time? Maybe NO. My occupation, more sadness, less fun. But with experiences I got from it, I think I really appreciate them, they mean a great deal to me.
