Werkelijk een schitterende Ferrari. Eén van de mooiste en meest geslaagde ontwerpen van de afgelopen jaren wat mij betreft. Precies aan de overkant van het kleine parkje stond de rode Ford GT. Wat een heerlijke stad is Londen toch!

Truly a magnificent Ferrari. For me it's one of the prettiest and most successful designs of the past few years. Exactly on the other side of the small park was the red Ford GT parked. What a great city. Every time again.

Slechts tien minuten na het eekhoorntje op de vorige foto, liepen we deze Veyron tegen het lijf bij The Dorchester. Daar stond hij dan, de allesoverheersende Bugatti Veyron. Eindelijk zag ik hem in het echt, op de weg, in het wild. Ik had hem voorheen wel al op de AutoRai gezien (2009) en in een Berlijnse showroom (ook 2009), maar dat is toch minder leuk en indrukwekkend dan dat je hem op de openbare weg tegenkomt. Wat een machine. Wat een uitstraling. De gouden look is misschien wat overdreven, maar de Veyron kan het hebben. En voor een eigenaar uit Saudi-Arabië heeft hij het nog bescheiden gehouden. Het was al mijn meest favoriete auto ooit, maar is het nu nóg meer. Trouwens, de Veyron had nog wat wit, blauw, oranje en rood gezelschap naast hem staan. Niks bijzonders verder.

Only ten minutes after the squirrel on the previous photo, we saw this Veyron parked at The Dorchester. There he was, the overwhelming Bugatti Veyron. Finally I saw him in real life, on the road, in the wild. Previously, I had seen him at the AutoRai in Amsterdam (2009) and in a showroom in Berlin (also 2009), but that's less fun and impressive than you see him on the road. What a machine. What an amazing look. Maybe the colors are a bit overdone, but it is a Bugatti, so it's acceptable. For an owner from Saudi Arabia it is even modest. It was already my favourite car ever, but now it's even more. By the way, the Veyron had some company in the colors blue, white, orange en red. Nothing special.

In de straten van Londen kom je mooie dingen tegen. Hele mooie dingen. Nog geen halfuur na de Arabische gekte bij The Dorchester - inclusief de gouden Veyron - liepen we deze prachtige Ford GT tegen het lijf. Wauw! Hij was wel een eindje van huis, het Amerikaanse Texas ligt niet om de hoek namelijk. Maar als Arabieren hun auto's laten overvliegen, waarom Amerikanen dan niet?

You'll find pretty things in the streets of London. Very pretty things. Less than thirty minutes after the Arab craziness - including the gold Veyron - at The Dorchester, we saw this beautiful Ford GT. Wow! He was some distance from home, because Texas isn't around the corner. But if Arabs let their cars fly over to England, why should Americans do not?

Een onverwachts dagje naar Londen! Vrijdagavond met de bus vanaf Utrecht via het Franse Calais naar Dover en verder naar de Engelse hoofdstad. Erg vermoeiend, maar wel een geweldige dag gehad. Op autogebied ook genoeg moois gezien en gefotografeerd, waaronder vele uit het Midden-Oosten. Deze prachtige Ferrari FF was echter gewoon Brits.

An unexpected day trip to London! Friday night we left from Utrecht by bus via the French Calais to Dover and on to the British capital. Quite tiring, but we had a great day. Also many amazing cars seen and photographed, including many from the Middle East. However, this pretty FF was just British.
