Mina simuleringar äter mycket minne, så jag tänkte öka det tillgängliga minnet genom att följa Mathworks tips om att använda 3 Gb switchen i Windows XP. Men självklart ballar saker ut om man försöker. Drivrutinerna till skärmen går vilda och man känner sig tillbakaflyttad till en tid med låg upplösning och en handfull färger. Det känns inte riktigt pålitligt detta… Som tur är lyckas jag optimera simuleringsproceduren minska minnesåtgången en faktor 100 och samtidigt göraa simuleringarna mer än 10 gånger snabbare… Farligt detta att tro att begränsningarna sitter i datorn!

Field workers use the latest Personal Digital Assistants (PDAs) to record data in rural Matlab as part of the leading longitudinal and most detailed demographic surveillance system in the developing world. Researchers from ICDDR,B have collected this information since 1966; it has been used to inform cholera vaccine trials and also shows sanitation provision has improved over the years.
