I’ve been wanting to shoot the new Legends retro carded Rhino for some time. Paired him up with Miles as a nod to the amazing intro fight in the SM:MM game for PS4/5.
I cheated slightly on the one-hand balance with a little sticky tack, but still the most difficult shot I’ve gotten so far taking pics of figures. Lots of fail before getting a few decent shots- hope you all dig it

A review of the MCU GotG 5 pack, Disney exclusive
TL;DR: Great stuff if you missed out
Gamora- Heels are never the easiest to balance. Face is stoic, I would’ve preferred slightly angry. She comes with sword and retracted sword for accessories. Both are pretty cool and retracted sword fits into a side holster well. (Legends GotG Vol2 reissue)
Rocket- tiny figures with 18pts of articulation and two different molded blasters (I don’t think this figure could wield other weapons/large guns unfortunately). Head can only rotate, like Ursa Major. Mouth doesn’t close. (Legends GotG Vol2 reissue)
StarLord- legs are kind of basic, jacket limits range of motion slightly. He comes with two identical blasters that port into his legs when standing in vanilla pose. He also has two head options, both are really good. I’d say the Pratt face is almost reminiscent of the GotG Game version. No jetpack accessories or sculpts- same for Walkman. (Legends Ego 2 pack reissue)
Drax the Destroyer- possibly my favorite of the lot, surprisingly. Normal articulation with pins and ab crunch. He comes with his twin identical daggers that can be stared in boot holsters. Face sculpt is pretty great for this fig. (Legends GotG Vol2 reissue)
Groot(s)- two tiny unarticulated groots are fine. Big Groot is substantial in size. His sculpt hinders articulation slightly. His face is a little derpy, a serious expression may’ve worked better. (Legends TRU exclusive reissue)
All of the sculpts and paint apps are good. Packaging is cool. Pinned-joints are going to look dated soon. When comparing this set to what Hasbro is asking for the MojoWorld 3.5 pack, I think this isn’t an insane price point. Having missed out on comic and previous iterations of this team, I’m happy to have this in my collection.
Cosmic shelf is looking much better with this addition!

Apathy-Man delivers a brick message to Spidey
Finally got around to opening William Baker Sandman from the Retro Carded SM line. Hefty figure fore his size, very cool accessories, and a great character to have in the line- and now on the shelf.
I’ve had some issue with keeping his head and weaponized limbs on without popping off. I’ve had him in various poses on my desk for a couple weeks, and he’s given me a number of falls regularly- I think I’ll have him displayed on a flight stand like pictured.
Integrated suit is iconic from NWH, and while I try and avoid MCU figs, I can’t imagine a time I won’t look back fondly on that film. HasbroPulse power days sale made it an easy pick up. My only ish is that it should’ve come with wall crawling hands as well.

I like the comic look for any particular Marvel figure over the MCU look, but the line is beginning to blur in 2022. That is a very good thing.
Both of these figures looked great as soon as I saw them released. Thor with the great colors. Gorr with minimal color, but great sculpt and Bale likeness.
Minor gripes: Thor’s eyes in the helm look a little off. I would consider filling in with a white or black paint pen. Stormbreaker is really thin towards the middle and bends with the weight of its head. Gorr falls on me fairly consistently with rubbery ankles.
Very solid figures, happy to add to the collection and hope that this is a harbinger of symbiotes in the MCU!

Retro-Carded Shocker looks way better with panel-lining!
I went with a brown Gundam marker. My first time modifying an action figure, and I made my share of mistakes, but a little rubbing alcohol and persistence paid off.
This figure really should have come with those lines painted! Considering doing the same with Scorpion, but that figure’s sculpt has finer lines.

Tentacles Vs Waldoes, who ya got?
Really stoked for this re-issue of Doc Ock, even happier he dropped early. Great figure, great paint apps, very cool. Tentacles are in odd shapes, but I feel like they can work fine. Of course, the next version with bendy-wire tentacles and pin-less joints will be superior, but I’m not gonna wait that long to complete my Insidious Six!
Iron Spider is better looking than I initially thought from promotional material and early looks (with messed up torso plastic). I almost passed on this guy. The one I found at my local Target was flawless. Really dig it’s shininess, ability to balance with those three large waldoes, and articulation. The Waldoes on mine are a bit wonky- nothing a hot water wash couldn’t correct.

My first look at the super posable retro carded Spidey buck with Ben Reilly, and it really is an amazing figure. I get it, this is the type of articulation we’ve all wanted for Spider-Man, and I can’t wait for the two-pack with articulated toes to drop
Kro is a figure I knew I wanted to pick up before The Eternals came out. I’m not really an MCU collector to begin with, but this figure is a great monster to have as an adversary for just about anyone. A great hefty figure, and lots of tendrils/tentacles that will definitely be making their way into symbiote shoots to come

I’m sure this meme format been used to death, but here’s another take!
White Rabbit’s paint apps and color scheme are great. I’ve had her waiting to be opened for nearly a year, and when my RYV pack came in, I figured Mary Jane might make a good foil for her.
This great looking figure unfortunately is hindered a bit by rubbery/gummy legs and neck joint. Her bow tie won’t fall behind her jacket on mine, and that is really limiting a head that is already restricted by long hair. I tried to pop off her head, but the neck joint looked like it was going to break before releasing the portrait.
Wobbly knees were not the greatest to pose around. I think that’s an issue with the plastic material used.
If this fig had double jointed arms, an extra ‘angry face’ head, and slightly better QC on the legs, it’d be a top-tier comic figure.
Two Spider-Lady posts in a row! I enjoyed the last one considerably more. They’re basically the same buck, but I think Silk looks way cooler.
That’s just my hot take. Maybe I should’ve taken a break before taking an in-depth look at Mary Jane’s Spinneret. Or read Renew Your Vows. I have it DL’d, but still have like two books left of Secret Wars 2 currently on deck, with maybe two books left. I’ll probably revisit this figure.
These two were not the easiest for me to balance, but both look excellent on the shelf.

Silk takes down Death Dealer
I don’t know a whole lot about Silk- she’s a character I haven’t come across in comics or other media. The big book of Marvel tells me she was a character introduced in 2014 (by Dan Slott) and had run-ins with Morlun..
She’s a great looking figure with super clean lines. I really like both head sculpts and paint apps. The accessories are on point for any Spider-person. Articulation is great, she is a very stable character to balance.
I would’ve passed if she wasn’t packed in with Doc Ock, Julia Carpenter is my main Spider-chick, but I’m digging this new character.
Cindy Moon is already in the MCU and rumors claim that Sony has bigger plans for her in the near future.
I don’t see Death Dealer in too many pics out there, and there could be good reason for that.
For as cool looking of a character he is, he didn’t leave much of an impression in the MCU. The figure looks pretty cool, but is lacking in articulation and accessories. I like the blade-throwing hands, but he could’ve really benefited from weapon holding hands and a “10 rings” saber. Or at least a chopping hand/fist??
Dude was on a deep discount and made the collection.

A review of the MCU GotG 5 pack, Disney exclusive
TL;DR: Great stuff if you missed out
Gamora- Heels are never the easiest to balance. Face is stoic, I would’ve preferred slightly angry. She comes with sword and retracted sword for accessories. Both are pretty cool and retracted sword fits into a side holster well. (Legends GotG Vol2 reissue)
Rocket- tiny figures with 18pts of articulation and two different molded blasters (I don’t think this figure could wield other weapons/large guns unfortunately). Head can only rotate, like Ursa Major. Mouth doesn’t close. (Legends GotG Vol2 reissue)
StarLord- legs are kind of basic, jacket limits range of motion slightly. He comes with two identical blasters that port into his legs when standing in vanilla pose. He also has two head options, both are really good. I’d say the Pratt face is almost reminiscent of the GotG Game version. No jetpack accessories or sculpts- same for Walkman. (Legends Ego 2 pack reissue)
Drax the Destroyer- possibly my favorite of the lot, surprisingly. Normal articulation with pins and ab crunch. He comes with his twin identical daggers that can be stared in boot holsters. Face sculpt is pretty great for this fig. (Legends GotG Vol2 reissue)
Groot(s)- two tiny unarticulated groots are fine. Big Groot is substantial in size. His sculpt hinders articulation slightly. His face is a little derpy, a serious expression may’ve worked better. (Legends TRU exclusive reissue)
All of the sculpts and paint apps are good. Packaging is cool. Pinned-joints are going to look dated soon. When comparing this set to what Hasbro is asking for the MojoWorld 3.5 pack, I think this isn’t an insane price point. Having missed out on comic and previous iterations of this team, I’m happy to have this in my collection.
Cosmic shelf is looking much better with this addition!

Mantis on the cheap? Does it work?
I picked up Sersi because I legitimately thought she was a great looking figure and I just got through ‘92s Operation: Galactic Storm, in which she was a prominent protagonist.
But the reason I picked up that crossover event is because of the amazing GotG game from Square takes place after a variation of those events, and Mantis was one of my favorite aspects of that game!
The neck barbell is too large for Mantis, so I’m not sure how permanent this will be on my cosmic shelf, but hopefully Hasbro’s Marvel team will put out a wave of figs for the GotG game like they did for the lesser Avengers game. Character designs in game are so good!

This is the definitive Wolverine for me. I dig the vibrant colors. It hits the 90’s nostalgia for the Saturday morning animated show. Tiger stripe costume FTW. Very happy that I’ll never need another version of this character.
Accessories are fine for a meme set, not the greatest. I’m only here for the core teeth-bearing claws-out Wolverine!
Had Omega Red in box since last December waiting for this pre-order to come in.

Apathy-Man delivers a brick message to Spidey
Finally got around to opening William Baker Sandman from the Retro Carded SM line. Hefty figure fore his size, very cool accessories, and a great character to have in the line- and now on the shelf.
I’ve had some issue with keeping his head and weaponized limbs on without popping off. I’ve had him in various poses on my desk for a couple weeks, and he’s given me a number of falls regularly- I think I’ll have him displayed on a flight stand like pictured.
Integrated suit is iconic from NWH, and while I try and avoid MCU figs, I can’t imagine a time I won’t look back fondly on that film. HasbroPulse power days sale made it an easy pick up. My only ish is that it should’ve come with wall crawling hands as well.

Stealth Armor Iron Man doesn’t debut until the following comic issue, but I like the color combo- Silver Centurion may be my favorite armor, but this has been my favorite ‘specialized’ armor since the animated series Toy Biz figure

I don’t hate the older look for the character, but most of my exposure to this guy in comics comes from the early ‘90s where he’s much younger, so it is a foreign look to me.
Overall a great look for the figure, the paint apps are excellent, and they even went with a paint app for the inner cape. But could you imagine if the cape was made out of a similar material to Genis-Vell’s sparkly dark transparent plastic?!
Cape is cumbersome on head movement and a bit awkward at times, but his large floppy feet keep this figure balanced without the cape touching ground.
Very cool addition to the Cosmic shelf! Hopefully Walgreens keeps up the online release of new Legends

My first look at the super posable retro carded Spidey buck with Ben Reilly, and it really is an amazing figure. I get it, this is the type of articulation we’ve all wanted for Spider-Man, and I can’t wait for the two-pack with articulated toes to drop
Kro is a figure I knew I wanted to pick up before The Eternals came out. I’m not really an MCU collector to begin with, but this figure is a great monster to have as an adversary for just about anyone. A great hefty figure, and lots of tendrils/tentacles that will definitely be making their way into symbiote shoots to come

From the moment this guy was revealed at PulseCon ‘21, I dug this character that I know relatively little about.
Great articulation, head movement is slightly hindered by the soft plastic cape. But I really dig the cape on an otherwise boring buck, and that New Plastic smell is awesome!
Will we ever see this guy enter the MCU (not counting Cloak&Dagger)? Ties to Shang Chi, Dr. Strange, and apparently Echo?

I’m sure this meme format been used to death, but here’s another take!
White Rabbit’s paint apps and color scheme are great. I’ve had her waiting to be opened for nearly a year, and when my RYV pack came in, I figured Mary Jane might make a good foil for her.
This great looking figure unfortunately is hindered a bit by rubbery/gummy legs and neck joint. Her bow tie won’t fall behind her jacket on mine, and that is really limiting a head that is already restricted by long hair. I tried to pop off her head, but the neck joint looked like it was going to break before releasing the portrait.
Wobbly knees were not the greatest to pose around. I think that’s an issue with the plastic material used.
If this fig had double jointed arms, an extra ‘angry face’ head, and slightly better QC on the legs, it’d be a top-tier comic figure.
Two Spider-Lady posts in a row! I enjoyed the last one considerably more. They’re basically the same buck, but I think Silk looks way cooler.
That’s just my hot take. Maybe I should’ve taken a break before taking an in-depth look at Mary Jane’s Spinneret. Or read Renew Your Vows. I have it DL’d, but still have like two books left of Secret Wars 2 currently on deck, with maybe two books left. I’ll probably revisit this figure.
These two were not the easiest for me to balance, but both look excellent on the shelf.

Silk takes down Death Dealer
I don’t know a whole lot about Silk- she’s a character I haven’t come across in comics or other media. The big book of Marvel tells me she was a character introduced in 2014 (by Dan Slott) and had run-ins with Morlun..
She’s a great looking figure with super clean lines. I really like both head sculpts and paint apps. The accessories are on point for any Spider-person. Articulation is great, she is a very stable character to balance.
I would’ve passed if she wasn’t packed in with Doc Ock, Julia Carpenter is my main Spider-chick, but I’m digging this new character.
Cindy Moon is already in the MCU and rumors claim that Sony has bigger plans for her in the near future.
I don’t see Death Dealer in too many pics out there, and there could be good reason for that.
For as cool looking of a character he is, he didn’t leave much of an impression in the MCU. The figure looks pretty cool, but is lacking in articulation and accessories. I like the blade-throwing hands, but he could’ve really benefited from weapon holding hands and a “10 rings” saber. Or at least a chopping hand/fist??
Dude was on a deep discount and made the collection.
