Volume 1 Issue 12 - Iron Fist part 2
Dani never knew what happened after she collapsed in that cave. All she remembered was collapsing. She didn't know whether she was dead or just unconscious, instead all she knew was that she was trapped in a dark dream depicting her father trapped in a dark room being tortured. His body was covered in bruises and blood trickled out of his mouth like a waterfall. Dani tried to turn away, but her father was everywhere in her sight. She dipped her head to cry, that's when she saw her chest. Dani was topless, but that wasn't what startled her, it was the fact that she had the iron fist symbol branded into the centre of her chest. But it wasn't painful, it was empowering. It glowed just like Shou Lao's did. That's when the memories of the fight flooded back into her mind almost jump starting her consciousness. Suddenly Dani was taken back into the light....
Dani's drowsy eyes began to slowly flicker open, squinting as she tried to adapt to the light. Once she was able to fully open them she realised where she was. Her body was connected up to a load of heart monitors and other scientificy what not. Screens and monitors filled the walls with beeping noises filling the almost silent room. Outside on the other hand seemed to be alive with noise. Car horns wailed, the wild murmur of conversation and the trees whispering in Central Park. Dani was home. We'll sort of. See sat up from the bed to try and get a look out of the window but a pain prevented me. My stomach aches as if it had been sucker punched a hundred times, which it had. Just as I laid back a familiar voice came from the other side of the room. "Good Morning Danielle, good to see you awake." He stands up, approaching my bedside. "How was your trip? I see you got what you wanted." He points down to my chest. I look down to see that the same brand of the Iron Fist I had in my dream was actually branded onto my chest, but it didn't hurt. "Stephen..." I wince as I try to sit up "what's happening? I was just in K'un Lun and now I'm....here?" Dr Strange smiles, "Lei reached out to me a couple of days ago and asked me to bring you home. I brought you here to get the physical check up. They just want to keep you in until you're injuries heal, shouldn't be to long, and...." I interrupt him, "thanks for the catch up, but what I meant to say was what the hell is happening here?" I point down at my chest. He looks at it and realised what I want to know. "Ahh well I asked Lei the same thing, and after doing some background checks of my own it appears in your fight with Shou what's it's name you connected with his source of power..." Dani now remembers her idea to cut off his power source "...thus making you the soul owner of the Iron Fist energy." Stephen looks back at me, my face is that of sheer shock. "So what does that mean for me?" He smiles again, his cocky smile as if he knows what I'm going to ask, turns around and walks over to that seat he was sat on. "Lei also gave me this to give to you." He picks up a package that was resting on his seat. "We had a discussion but it's completely up to you..." He opens the package and reveals a costume. In the dead centre is the Iron Fist symbol. "Dani, you become the Iron Fist."
Volume 1 Issue 7 - Contest of Champions
Dani strode down the corridors of the great hall of K'un Lun, ignoring all the other competitors that prepared for battle. Most wore masks anyway so Dani had no idea who she was fighting. But that didn't matter to her. Despite her nerves most of her body was filled with excitement and passion. She knew this was it, her first and maybe only chance of saving her father. She continued to pace down that hallways towards the main hall. As she approached the huge wooden doors with gold decorations she noticed Lei stood there waiting for her. "Ah Dani there you are. How are you feeling?" She walked up to him "ready." He smiled like he wanted her to say that. "Do you want me to run through the format of these contests with you?" Dani nods, as if she is to focused to speak. "Well they're very simple, you being my champion will fight against three opponents, all being the champions of the other masters. Win all three and Yu-Ti will grant you any possible wish. That's when you say that you wish to fight Shou Loa. You got all that?" Dani turned to look at him "yeah all good, just want to get started." She looked back at the doors waiting for them to open. "Just remember what I told you and you'll be fine, all you need to do is focus." A gong sounded and the doors opened, Dani was one step closer to her father already.
Dani cruised through the first two fights with ease, with the thought of her father in her mind there was nothing that was going to get in her way. Even though the two she's taken down were not as strong as her, she still felt the rush of excitement as she advanced to the final round. After an hour or so of waiting for her last fight the gong sounded, summoning Dani into the room again. She walked into the centre of the mat along with a fighter in a red gown with a mask over his face. Yu-Ti then rises from his seat, hushing the other masters. "Champions. Congratulations on making it to the final round. In K'un Lun tradition the final round will be a fight to the death." Dani's eyes widened. No where was she told that she would have to kill in this fight. She wanted to protest but Yu-Ti carried on talking. "Remember you are fighting this so you are granted any wish you dream from me. The fight between champion of Kung and champion of Wing will start at the gong. Can the champion of Wing please remove their mask." The fight in red rips off his mask and reveals his face. Dani looked over, instantly recognising the shaggy black hair and stone expression of Shang, the guard she met when she entered K'un Lun. Dani almost screamed, not only did she have to kill someone, but that someone had to be her good friend Shang Chi.?
Volume 2 Issue 6.2 - The Wonder of Revenge Part 2
Next door in the male toilets: “WHAT THE HELL WAS THAT!” Simon screams across the toilet at Richard. “The new CEO is a girl. You promised me I would be running this company till my dying breath, but you and your board chose her? You lying piece of filth!” He grabs Richard by his suit collar. Richard shoves him away. “Calm down Simon. Get your anger under control. I thought the board would go for you, but obviously your Ionic Particle research has hit a dead end. Without any volunteers for your human testing there is no way we’ll be able to market it.” Simon walks over to the mirror smashing his fist into it, creating a huge crack. “You want a human test subject” he grunts “use me!” He storms out of the toilet leaving Richard staring at his own reflection. A huge grin stretches across his face; he pulls out a mobile phone and says down the line “the plan continues to move forward as planned sir”
The Man Without Fear.
I don't know what it is about Daredevil, but shooting him really brings out the creativity in yours truly. And hey, it helps when I'm a fan of the figure.

Marvel Legends Punisher, from the Vintage Series, is a ton of fun, mostly because it's the Punisher. The only real problem with him, in my opinion, is the way his head sits on the neck. You won't be able to display him in profile unless he's looking up or straight ahead - looking down, his head almost looks entirely separated from his neck.
Still, I dig it!

The Kingpin is one of my absolute favorite figures from the 2019 crop of Marvel Legends. But that doesn't mean I'm gonna keep Daredevil from beating down on him a bit.
I thought I'd try a somewhat "artsier" look for this one, so let me know what you think in the comments. And definitely let me know what you think of the Kingpin figure.

Since we were using a forced environment with the black sheets, shooting was limited to the angles we could achieve with the tripod facing the table-top.
To compensate we would rotate the set pieces and figures. This involved the big Spider-Man playset and lots of individual pieces so we didn't achieve perfect continuity in positions from shot to shot. We also did not move the Ghostbuster's HQs as we were lazy a complete reversal of the entire set would have been too time consuming.
