Mirabilis jalapa - Marvel of Peru after sunset.
These two flowers are growing side by side on the same plant. This variation in colour of flowers within a plant gave rise to the genus name of this plant "Mirabilis" which means "amazing, wondrous, remarkable". It is also why it was given the common name of Marvel of Peru.
I hadn't noticed flowers with bright red anthers until I took this photo.
Natural light so quality not high. Pentax K5 0.8 f/20 ISO 6400 Pentax 100mm
Based off a thing I did a while ago. I need to do an announcement/New Years/ panniversery picture to talk about recent shit, so expect that in the next few days. Also a last minute entry to tim's contest

▶ "Mirabilis jalapa —the marvel of Peru or four o'clock flower— is native to the dry tropical regions of North, Central, and South America — Mexico, Guatemala, Chile, and Peru— but has been naturalized throughout tropical, subtropical, and temperate regions of the world. In North America, the plant grows in warm, coastal environments, particularly in USDA zones 7–10.
It is a perennial, herbaceous, bushy plant that grows 1 to 2 meters in height, thriving in weedy, ruderal areas. Its flowers can be yellow, red, magenta, pink, or white, or combinations thereof. They open in late afternoon (namely between 4 and 8 o'clock pm, giving rise to one of its common names) and close in the morning, producing a strong, sweet-smelling fragrance. 'Mirabilis' in Latin means wonderful and 'Jalapa' (or 'Xalapa') is the state capital of Veracruz in México."

Slowly but surely I've been expanding my collection. I'm really excited for the new X-Men, Spider-Man, and Captain America Civil War series to start hitting stores
I'm going to start a series of the ultimate versions of my Lego Avengers and MCU-related minifigures. It's basically going to pictures of my favorite modified Lego marvel figures. This one's the first one in a series of them :)
From left to right:
Starlord: Third favorite MCU character, right after Cap and Spidey. Same as the last time I showed him, but with Owen's head from the Jurassic World sets. Finally got that head after a loooonng time, and it looks great!
Falcon: Upgraded with FFH Spidey legs and Arealight vambraces. I'm still waiting for the day when Lego comes out with a minifigure with black/brown or dark blueish gray/brown dual-molded arms.
I've shown Cap, Iron Man, and Thor before, but I thought I'd put them in the first picture of my Marvel series. That Phoenix Cap still makes me smile despite having him for months.
What do you guys think? Comments are, as always, very much appreciated! :)
Also, suuuuper close to 400 followers right now :D Thinking about doing a "400" followers post when I get to that number.
Couple of Marvel Comics baddies. Nothing you haven't seen before. Sorry bout the shadows in the pic and overall kinda low quality. I'm not a photographer what do you want from me
Kraven the Hunter: Same fig as usual just with Taserface hair.
The Kingpin: Same one TheMooseFigs made. Just added the CMF chef arms to represent his cufflinks and a whisk for when he makes his omelettes. Also, Ddaredevil Season 3 was amazing.
Taskmaster: Same one from the last pic but with a blue hood so he's more comic accurate than USM cartoon accurate.
Let me know what you guys think! :D
L to R - Steve Rogers, Hawkeye, Wasp, Mandarin, and Bucky Barnes.
Steve Rogers - I think this is the same figure as before just a different head.
Hawkeye - Simple figure.
Wasp - Same as before just gave her the clear neck bracket instead of angel.
Mandarin - Didn't really like the green version so I made the red version instead.
Bucky Barnes - Nothing too special about this.
You are looking at a classic comic book cover in the theme of Spider-Man; The Amazing Spider-Man. One of the toughest rivals; 'Sandman' takes on Peter Parker this time.
The size of this build is (A1-format) 594x841mm.
It took me a full week to design and create this MOC.
About 5.000 parts, in which almost all the red and pink elements from my stock, have been used in this model.
The first of my Marvel figure series, i’ll probably be sticking to the 3 figure showcases for the time unless i do a group shot or something of that sort
I saw Ragnorak last night finally and boy was it a good film, i’ll make some figs from that soon forsure.
L to R:
Cap: don’t know what they’re calling him yet, cap? steve? nomad? ah who knows.
anyways, i love this fig, just gave him some dual molded arms and a more accurate hair piece.
Black Widow: I also love this figure, Creds to TheMooseFigs for the head, i think it looks more like Scarlett Johansson than any other head really, and gave her white hair.
White Wolf: ha that’s weird to call him that, but i like it. anyway Olli beat me to posting the use of this torso by so little time, but yeah i personally besides the belt it’s a PERFECT torso, i’m also on the fence whether his legs are black or dark brown, so i went with black to get that accurate leg strap, also his new arm looks like a darker gun metal so i gave him that.
Enjoy!
So a few updates on some Marvel figures.
Kraven: Gave him the Zod head and a cape.
Electro: I don't think I've ever shown him in a figbarf, but you've seen him in issues. head and helmet are a bootleg Ezra Miller Reverse Flash.
Mysterio: Just my version of comic Mysterio, as I don't have the official one.
Shocker: Changed the yellow to gold. I don't remember where I saw this torso used first, but I've seen it more than once.
Logan... what a beautiful movie!!! I was so overwhelmed by the acting, the action and the drama is this film that i had to some shots...
Vision's daughter is missing because i didn't have the pieces to make her.
Also if you didn't read Champions comic check it out.I'd recommend it.
I didn't get paid to say that lol.
I bought one of Batman minifigures blind bags. When i opened the package i wasn't actually happy with what i got.(Pink Batgirl) So i wanted to use her pieces for my other figs.I realised her pieces are quite useful.I will post more figs later.I made Kamala Khan but i wanted to put the whole team in the picture.Hope you like it.
Edited by future Web-slinger from 2018: I wouldn't recommend it anymore. Buy it on your own risk lol.
"I see better from a distance"
I've always quite liked Hawkeye, he brings a sense of humour to serious situations and he's sort of like Marvel's Dick grayson, plus I find that now he is the only good thing about marvel. But I'll save my ranting.
-Fig Formula- Lbm Catwoman cowl and belt, reversed superman torso, Dobby arms, Lbm Batgirl waist, Lbm Dick Grayson legs
Few years back I made Museum of LEGO History when my part collection was quite small. I love MCU so I decided to make another one with all Marvel heroes stuff I have. As you can see Batman is quite angry and he knocked out ironmans hip part
So, thinking about the Emotional Spectrum, it definitely applies to other franchises, right? Here's some interpretations of the Lanterns in Marvel characters.
Left to right:
Black Lantern (Death): Thanos
Red Lantern (Rage): Wolverine
Orange Lantern (Avarice): Doctor Doom
Yellow Lantern (Fear): Green Goblin
Green Lantern (Will): Captain America
Blue Lantern (Hope): Nightcrawler
Indigo Lantern (Compassion): Carnage (as a convert)
Violet Lantern (Love): Sue Storm
White Lantern (Life): Vision
Bishop! This was the last figure we needed to build the old original Toy Biz Apocalypse BAF! We'd been hunting to find him inexpensive and finally did. Very happy to see this one.
* I recreated a thing.. NOTE: I don't own the poster it's a promotional propriety of Marvel Studios and their artists. But I was hungry and wanted to do some editing XD!*
Watch THOR LOVE AND THUNDER.. not sponsored...
The 60th installment into my marvel Figures series. I have four figures today
L-R
Morbius: I wanted to make him look more creepy
Mar-Vell: new head, hair, and torso (to have the gold emblem)
Peggy: long overdue
Toad: Just testing combos
S.H. Figuarts Iron Man, Figma Spiderman, and Marvel Legends Captain America.
Relied on sunlight for figures. I didn't know Iron Man's paint job had mica until I saw the image. I toned it down a bit so it wouldn't look like dust. I was happy that the light hit the plasma laser i such a way that I didn't feel the need to "enhance" it in PS. Same goes for the arc reactor.
I repainted Cap's gloves and boots, used a gundam marker and wash to bring out some details, then flattened the paint. His face including his eyes were repainted as well.
