We extended our trip by one day to include two different parks that I haven't visited before. Goblin Valley State Park is just North of Capitol Reef National Park by an hour or so so I had to make the stop. It was early morning and the light was harsh, but I was still able to come away with a few keepers.

I was able to capture this gentleman standing among the goblins. It felt like a different world. One that I had dreamed of or seen on like Star Trek or some kind of Sci-Fi movie. I could only dream of far off planets like Mars.

A collection of very alien-looking toadstools.

The Siloli desert in Bolivia and the neighbouring Atacama desert in Chile are one of the driest places on earth, resembling a moonscape, or perhaps better a "mars-scape".

Eles são meus divos, acho que todos sabem , e estou louca pelo clip *---*

tanto que fui logo catar as fotos promos deles e fiz isso ._.

Sinceramente, eu ameei *---*

On April 30 I had a lovely chat with friendly visitors from space and I even could sneek a peek into their cockpit and take an image of it ! You see the captain of the crew.

Unfortunaltely this space ship was too small for me to hop in myself ... but it was a fun encounter nonetheless !

Crazy Tuesday - theme of May 3rd, 2022: Made of Plastic

This is actually the plastic head of a reusable metal cocktail stick for finger food; taken in front of the keyboard of my tablet with internal lighting switched on; additional lighting with a coloured LED-light

[ taken with the manual Laowa 60mm 2x magnification lens @ about f/4; the "head"' is about 2.5 cm high ]

I will catch up in the evening ! :)

I have high hopes that one day a Mars rover will uncover something like this set of fossilised terrestrial ammonites!

I created a few centimetres of Mars in our dining room with a block of fossils, LED lights and ground coffee. I now have a piece of ancient rock that smells of Starbucks.

A very brief outing yesterday to these well-known rocks. The wind started to pick up but there was Some beautiful light as the sun went down turning the gritstone red.

Mars Animation photo...

Valles Marineris, Noctis Labirinthus and north polar cap are clearly visible. The volcanoes Olympus, Arsia, Pavonis and Ascraeus Mons can be seen on the center right.... on the upper left the thin film of Mars atmosphere is also visible.

Realising yesterday that Mars Mission is fifteen years old meant I suddenly had to build another Claw Tank tribute. This one is moving away from the original set and into a more GI Joe design, big and chonk, equal parts aggressive and goofy. I had the large orange treaded WIP lying around for ages (a failed Hibernia digger) so most of that got remixed into this monstrosity.

The GREEN MARS project is in full swing. Already in September 2083 the first four shuttles with twenty technicians and scientists plus tons of building materials and technical equipment landed on Mars.

Within a few weeks, three residential units for 40 people each, a laboratory and a huge greenhouse were erected.

Nevertheless, there are always significant delays because our mission is constantly confronted with unpredictable situations and problems on the red planet.

Just one example: Of all things my living unit couldn’t be connected to the colonies power grid so far.

However, after five months without electricety the technicians provisionally pulled a cable from the generator in shuttle no. 3 across the greenhouse in which some plants are already - contrary to expectations - developing very well.

My current roommate, Prof. Elena Gagarina (a great-great-granddaughter of the cosmonaut Yuri Alexievich Gagarin), is very pleased, because she now can finally blow-dry her hair. I've tried to persuade Elena to take before and aft pics of her hairdo, but unfortunately she refused.

Mars is above the mountain and Jupiter is in the top right corner. note a couple of scenic benches located across the pond

Miles out in the desert on a primitive dirt road north of Hanksville, Utah is the Mars Desert Research Station. The volunteers here are preparing to live on Mars, whenever they get a chance to travel there.

iPhone 8 - Let this be a lesson to all of you. Never leave your camera behind during a disaster even if it is just to run over and pick up a couple of burgers. I rarely rarely rarely ever take a photo with my iPhone because they just don't have the quality. Then I spend a lot of time in Photoshop cleaning up ratty JPEG artifacts and related garbage.

This was taken on the night of September 8th.

NB: I revised the photo several hours after I first posted it. I had another image which I merged with the original and expanded the picture horizontally. This I spent some time polishing it.

Scientific breakthrough!

Documented with a photo - proof that there is water on Mars. ;)

Came to mind while eating one of these candy bars and washing it down with a glass of water...

Lighting: Single LED panel from above, slightly right. White paper as background and in front as reflector for the Mars bar.

I think I caught Mars last night but the fabled green comet, supposedly just to the right of Mars, was more elusive.

The news here is all about a cyclone but it is mainly going to hit the North Island and down here in the south we are probably not going to see that either.

Today is the day... the day of the Barbie movie premiere and I have my tickets ready. After being an emo in my teenage years and hating the color pink with all of my being, now I am almost 30 and I just LOVE pink. In fact, on monday I am going to the local supermarket to fight off seniors to get my hands on a pink stand mixer and blender combo, so wish me luck lol

So, the building itself has three floors, and has a spiral staircase. On the bottom floor you will find a fireplace, pool, bar & kitchen. On the second floor there is a bubble bath (decor only), wardrobe, and a sink with a led lit mirror. The third floor is ideal for a bedroom setting, or whatever you will have in mind. Of course there is a pink slide from top to bottom, which is decor only at the moment, but later I might update it with an animation if I have time. Also I will most likely update it with a nighttime texturing. The possible nighttime textures and slide anim will be free and I will issue a redelivery for everyone that gets their hands on this building.

For now I am starting out on a separate clutter pack for this building, because... I need it. It will include lamps, chairs, possibly a bed with anims.

I also included the small display version of the house, cause it could look cute in a kids room.

In case you read this far, damn... you are breathtaking and I love you.

Watch the epic set video from the movie that inspired me!

Imagine this. Year 2056. Humans have long since established themselves on Mars and terraforming is starting to show resault. You are one of the crew members who has just arrived. At first sign of daylight, you climb up to the observation post in the bunker in which you live and this is what you see.

Or this; in 1840 they found nickel in this area. 10-15 man worked in a small mine nearby. The ore, that you see here, were stored and transported by horse to the sea during wintertime. It was then shipped to Great Britan and used in the productions of coins. The mine company was shut down after about 60 years of operation.

2550 AD. Mars is finally a colonized planet, scientists have managed to create an atmosphere where we humans can breathe normally and so explore new horizons as we can see it in this picture taken by an AI automated surveillance device, where a couple of young explorers enjoy a pleasurable ballad along the coastline.

I spotted this duck making his way across a pond covered in a red weed, it didn't seem to bother it and I was very surprised at how quickly his trail was closed over again by the weed.

Reminded me of living on a red planet like Mars!
