Street sign/marquee for the Walgreens at 1919 Fruitridge Road in Sacramento.At least this marquee never plays dirty,unlike the electoronic marquee at the Arden/Howe Walgreens near Arden Fair:Around Labor Day weekend 2009 while riding the 87 along Howe Avenue,I had the misfortune of seeing that marquee flashing 'We welcome all Rite Aid RX transfers' after a similar massage welcoming Longs Drugs prescription transfers at a time in which all the Longs locations were already converting to CVS/pharmacy.Thank goodness Rite Aid is too big to fail or be bought...
I love diagonal wooden siding!! The bedquilt-style paintjob will be perfect for this.
Concerts etc are also performed here but I know it mostly from pro wrestling events.
It was originally the Empire Theater. Five of the six letters of "Empire" were rearranged to spell "Prime." According to the Bay Area GIS Viewer it was built in 1947, but elsewhere online it said to have opened in 1948. It operated as a theater until 1979 and later was a nightclub. It became the Prime Event Center in 2008.
