Today was my first Saturday off in over a year and it felt really strange..;) So, I went out an did something. It was market day in my little town and I went. I meant to go earlier then 11 because it's still really hot here. Normally, it starts to cools off in Oct. but this year summer just doesn't want to go away. Anyway, I saw this shot and thought SS as soon as I saw it. The booth people were having big sales because next month is the last market day until Spring.

In the morning I'm going to try to get out early and go to a state park. I'm on the hunt for a great bench shot..;)

Despite the summer heat, the excitement of exploring local markets never fades. Renting an apartment means keeping the fridge full and enjoying fresh, cooking meals that save on restaurant costs. There's something truly special about shopping, tasting, and creating at home, even while on vacation. But when the supermarket doesn’t inspire, it becomes the perfect excuse to head to a restaurant and savor the moment instead.

Thanks for all the love and comments! Cooking up memories, one market trip at a time, because who says saving money can’t be deliciously fun.

Are you sure we are here or are we there.

Looking through my archives while waiting for warmer weather, I came across this unused shot from a very enjoyable visit we paid last year to the market in Melton Mowbray. The Leicestershire town is famous for its Stilton cheese and its pork pies, but it also has a fabulous street market dating back many hundreds of years. Recorded as Leicestershire's only market in the 1086 Domesday Survey, it is the third oldest market in England, receiving royal approval in 1324.
