Courage is knowing what not to fear.
Plato
Nothing in life is to be feared, it is only to be understood. Now is the time to understand more so that we may fear less.

If you want to cure the world, don’t emanate fear – emanate love.

Fear is the path to the dark side. Fear leads to anger. Anger leads to hate. Hate leads to suffering. Yoda (George Lucas)
Thank you for your kind visit. Have a wonderful and beautiful day! ❤️ ❤️ ❤️
You cannot hope to build a better world without improving the individuals. To that end, each of us must work for his own improvement and, at the same time, share a general responsibility for all humanity, our particular duty being to aid those to whom we think we can be most useful.

In 1970, the institute headed by Marie Curie (1967-1934), together with the Curie Foundation, became the Institut Curie, which is still dedicated to research, teaching and cancer research today. Marie Curie's former laboratory and study have been converted into a museum. The remaining rooms are still used for scientific purposes. Parts of them cannot be used by employees due to their exceptionally high radioactive contamination (Pavillon des Sources).

Teile davon sind auch von Mitarbeitern nicht nutzbar aufgrund ihrer außerordentlich hohen radioaktiven Belastung (Pavillon des Sources).

16694 (R694 DNH) on the approach to Westbridge, Northampton, with the D2 from Daventry on the 4th of May 2016.
I have not seen 16694 for a few weeks, so a reminder to myself and everyone else what it looks like! Seen along Hemans Road, Daventry, on yes, the D2! 5th May 2016
Original image from the web rephotographed in PANO-Vision on the iPhone6 Plus and pieced together in CS5.5 and FX Photo Studio Pro.
Although I am pleased enough with this shot, it wasn`t as I planned, and the only decent one from a morning session. I was hoping 16694 (R694 DNH) was on this mornings D2, as I planned a shot of it along Admirals Way, where I have managed other buses recently, but not this celebrity yellow one. However, my plan started to fall apart, while as I was pleased to see the Yellow Volvo Olympian, I was unable to get the shot I wanted, as I was bowled by the most nasty filth imaginable. No, not a Toss Co delivery van, which would have been awful, but a very disgusting german car with sad blue and white logo. Not happy. Not happy at all. Oh well, onto shot 2. Unable to park, stupid market day, a market that no-one even bothers going to, to make things worse. Gave up, went for an alternative shot, but just a little bit too slow getting there, as bus was already at stop. Oh well, of to a spot on the Headlands to get it on the way to Lang Farm. ARRRRggggghhhhh, an army of 'block paving' vans all over the place. Off to me next planned spot. AAAArrrrgggghhhhhhhh, removal lorries!!!!!!!!!!!!
I at least managed this shot next!
Ok, back off to the Headlands for a couple of shots I have been looking at. First was initially looking good, but wait, what is that piece of cr@p parked up on the grass verge. Yes, an offensive car starting with B, and ending W. Not happy. I will not have any photographs with any of those in, thank you very much. At least my next spot was looking good. Nothing in the way, nice framing by the trees. Perfect. Hurrah, here comes the bus, but no, NO, NO, NOOOOOO. A car pulls up from behind me, and stops right in front of me as the bus was on top of me!!!!!!!!! (Although not literally, unfortunately for some!)
I did manage one final shot in Daventry, but it didn`t go as planned, but as no clouds, or no filth in the shot, I will upload it later.
This older woman clearly had health and mobility problems. I was touched that, in spite of this, she was still giving thought to others and was wearing the Marie Curie daffodil. When I look at this photo, this symbol of kindness is the first thing I see.

It`s over three months ago already when 16694 worked it`s last day of service for Stagecoach. I photographed her for the last time 2 days after this shot, but this is the last ever shot of the Yellow Olympian in Daventry. It was a dull day, but I had to get a record shot at least. Here she is leaving Daventry Bus Station for the last ever time on the 15th of July 2016.
I thought a photo of my bus ticket would have been boring, so I have combined them in one image!
It`s hard to believe that 6 months have passed since I took this shot. Stagecoach 16694 (R694 DNH) heads up Admirals Way, Daventry, with a D2 to Northampton on the 6th of July 2016.
These guys encourage passers to become aware of and committing to donate to the Marie Curie Charity.
This is a great charity that offers fantastic support to families suffering terminal illness.
16694 (R694 DNH) travels along Hemans road, Daventry (Which has nothing to do with Masters of the Universe) as it works a morning D2 to Northampton.
16694 (R694 DNH) on the D2 again, and this time a different spot along Shackleton Drive, Daventry for the inbound working towards Lang Farm. 7th March 2016.
Stagecoach East Midlands launched the eye-catching Daffodil Bus last year and raised £2,050 for Marie Curie by encouraging people whose lives have been affected by cancer to submit personal messages to be printed on the side of the double decker bus,
Another shot not as planned, but traffic forced my hand, and leaves me to try this again another day when 16694 is back out on the D2. At least Richard will like this one, yes, 2 of them!

16694 (R694 DNH) in it`s popular Marie Curie charity livery, heads up Trafalgar Way, Daventry with the Northampton bound D2 on 6th July 2016. A shot I have tried several times before, without managing to pull off, for one reason or other!
It`s not often you`ll get me out in such gloomy conditions, but this particular bus was supposed to be leaving Stagecoach today, and after a tip-off from RD 'Olympian Magnet' that it was on route 9A between the Town Centre and Duston, I decided to try and get a couple of farewell shots before going to the Cobblers. Here we see 16694 heading along Duston Road, a shot not possible if the sun was out of course. 23rd January 2016.

Another one for Richard, in case he has forgotten what this Volvo Olympian looks like! 16694 (R694 DNH) on the D2 to Northampton, makes it`s way along Braunston Road, Daventry on the 3rd of March 2016.
Time to wave goodbye to Stagecoach 16694 (R694 DNH) as the veteran Volvo Olympian is now deregistered. Here we see it a couple of months ago, at the stop in Speke Drive, Daventry whilst on route D2. A couple of months later, I boarded the bus here, rather than taking it`s photograph. It`s the last time I did, and the last time I will. She will be sadly missed.
Due to Richards attempt to stop me getting any more shots of 16694, I will have to resort to uploading some I had already taken, but not yet uploaded. Here, the veteran Volvo Olympian is seen along Speke Drive, Daventry with the D2 on the 5th of May 2016.
I am almost forgetting what 16694 looks like in the sun, so here`s one from February I never got round to uploading. It is seen here on route 50, Swan Valley, Northampton. 25th February 2016
In memory of my parents and in appreciation of all carers. My late father bought me this watch. The daffodil is the symbol of the UK charity Marie Curie Cancer Care (www.mariecurie.org.uk/). Their nurses provided night-time care so my Mum could remain at home in her last days, surrounded by her family.

I had photographed this beus here a couple of weeks previous, but the sky was boring, and I was not happy with a parked car. I therefore decided to try again, although sadly, the light was not as good this time. Never happy am I?
.....and it did not go to plan! My car is parked in the road just behind me to force a better angle, but some bad timing with a Carlsberg lorry coming from behind me, meant the Olympian tucked in to let it pass, sadly, totally messing up my angle. However, I knew this was my last chance, and it felt a very strange moment. She is seen along Tithe Barn way, Northampton for the very last time on July 19th 2016.
