La Marie-Elisabeth-Lüders-Haus es un singular edificio gubernamental situado a orillas del río Spree, en el corazón de Berlín, muy cerca de otras importantes instituciones estatales como el edificio del Reichstag y la Cancillería Federal. El edificio forma parte del simbólico conjunto arquitectónico «Cinta de la Federación», cuya idea es unir las antiguas partes del Berlín dividido.

Su patrocinadora, Marie-Elisabeth Lüders (1878-1966), fue una pionera de la política alemana: fue la primera mujer del país en doctorarse en Ciencias Políticas y trabajó por los derechos de la mujer y la reforma social.

El edificio tiene líneas sencillas, incluso ascéticas, y una estructura en forma de cresta con patios abiertos. La combinación de muros de hormigón y fachadas acristaladas permite una iluminación óptima de los interiores, mientras que los llamativos aleros confieren al conjunto un carácter individual.

St Mary's Chapel, or the Chapel of the Visitation of the Blessed Virgin, was part of the Visitation Monastery, whose buildings were constructed between 1623 and 1634. The Duchess Louise-Marie de Gonzague, the future Queen of Poland, laid the foundation stone in June 1639. The work was completed in 1649.

It is the only remains of the Convent of the Visitation, a religious order founded in 1610 by Saint Francis de Sales and Saint Jeanne de Chantal. The nuns' presence was much criticised. They bought houses to enlarge their holding and depopulated the street. The Abbey of Saint Martin then agreed to give part of its land to the nuns who could then build the chapel

Té una de les naus més altes de Praga, i això s'explica perque fou disenyada com una de les més grans esglésies de la ciutat, però només s'executà una petita part de l'obra, aturada per les guerres hussites.

The beautiful gothic church of Our Lady of the Snows (Kostel Panny Marie Sněžné), in Prague, was designed as one of the biggest churches in the city. But only a tiny part was built before the wars stopped all works. Even so, it's still one of the highest naves in Prague.
