This image was taken for the theme "flowers in march" of the group "smile on saturday". In particular, this theme is dedicated to the memory of a member of the group, Marcy Schrum. Even if I didn't know her well, I offer this flower image to her memory.

Our March has been freezing this year. I have seen witch hazel flowering in past years as early as February, but this was in its prime towards the end of March.

We march up the old felled tree. We thrive on her porous hide and all rejoice!

The weather has forced Cleo to return to hibernation. It's cold, wet and very windy and she isn't happy about it. Her human isn't happy either as the gloomy weather makes taking photos quite difficult.

Wondering what this last month of "winter" will bring. Hopefully Spring!

It's about 2 months since I last picked up my camera and a combination of time, energy and motivation seem to be conspiring against me at the moment. With nothing new to process and upload, it's back to the archives and a shot from a beautifully peaceful morning up at Buttermere back in March
