Distant Lands in Pasadena had this great vintage map behind the cash register. I asked if I could take some pictures. Honestly, I wish I'd had a tripod or could have troubled them to take MANY pictures.
Map made by Oakenshawe¹s residents of their neighborhood as part of Maps on Purpose mapmaking workshops. This community-made map reveals the neighborhood as a tightly-knit village within an urban Baltimore setting.
The letter T in Map 1 is the Bus Terminal in Pedro Montt street and the balloon with a letter A is my house in Pasaje Lund 16.
In Pedro Montt street you can take a colectivo marked with number 8 (or C) in a big orange sign at the top of the roof which also says Cordillera. You can ask the driver to drop you in "Subida Castillo" in Merlet Street or plaza Eleuterio Ramirez, then you can walk by the same street you were coming but this time down the hill two blocks and at your left you'll find Pasaje Lund, my home is at the end of that walk only street marked with number 16, my door has a "Bienvenidos (Welcome)" sign also. The price of the colectivo from the bus terminal to subida Castillo is 500 pesos approx.
*"Colectivos" are cheaper than taxis in Valparaiso. Colectivo is like a city bus but in a car.
