Driving down the coast to LA LA Land, stopped to take a quick break along the road in Malibu.

Malibu Beach, CA

So this was my first time down at Malibu Pier, I left at 4:30am to meet up with William McIntosh. Sunrise offered a very beautiful spectacle and the water was quite unruffled, but the motion communicated by the tides was so great that, although there was not a breath of air stirring, the sea heaved slowly with a grand and majestic motion. Perfect for a morning capture. :)

I was recently asked about my favorite shot and the shots of this White-tailed Kite came to mind. I especially like how the feather detail is emphasized by the colorful bokeh.

The shot was taken in Malibu at the park across from the library.
