I didn't even know the bookshelf had fallen on me till later that morning.
When I saw the bookcase and books all over the bed, I was glad to be only 5 foot tall or my legs would have been crushed by sturdy books like 'A day in the life of the Soviet Union' and some thumping big art books, or even the cheapo board bookcase with half its shelves already missing.
Picking up the books and putting them back was a necessity, because they blocked the route to the bathroom. And boy that was needed in the post-Quake, constant aftershock time.
When I finally started putting the books back, I got to revisit lots of my favourite books and enthusiasms - Pre-Raphaelites, Monty Python, Aubrey Beardsley, Jane Austen, Mary Webb, Philippa Gregory, Mahnolo Blahnik, Vivienne Westwood, Phillip Pullman, Arthurian stuff, and photo albums.
