In one of the "small" woods of Scania -- Sweden, you can clearly observe the magnificence of The Creator with the play of colors in nature that takes your breath away!
Azizi had a visit to the vet today. He has had some white discharge coming out of his nose and the suspected respiratory infection was correct. He also very sweetly agreed to having his claws clipped!!!
I'm now tasked with giving him a nebuliser three times a day and giving him a minute dosage of antibiotic twice a day.
Wish me luck!! though I suspect he will embrace his treatment the laid back way he embraces the photography!!
A wingspan of 6 feet when in flight, they are one of the largest owls in the world. A formidable and striking bird to watch. Populations had historically declined due to human hunting and habitat loss though numbers are slowly increasing in the UK.
They eat fish and small mammals, mainly rabbits.
Sometimes nature's magnificence is so overwhelming that asking why the picture was taken becomes irrelevant.
Couldnt resist a sepia version of this magnificent castle....somehow sepia just suits castles and adds to the mood...well, I think so anyway :o)
In the beautiful waters of Triton Bay in Indonesia water abstracts are beauties to behold. The magnificence of the sea is magnified by wave actions that produce abstract that allow your imagination to roam.
We don't touch the foxes ever, but he likes to get close!! and he's very sociable and photogenic!! Captured at British Wildlife Centre, UK
This cut-leaf beech was, and still is, my favourite tree in our local park. I've taken many pictures of it in the past, when its beautiful boughs almost touched the ground, making a splendid shape.
Recently, the 'Management' decided to cut off the lower branches, drastically reducing its magnificence and majesty. They will never, ever grow back. This is what is left. Still beautiful, still majestic, in all its autumnal glory. But .... it just isn't 'right' now. Many feel so sad - and remember the way it used to be, before they injured it.
One of only two cut-leaf beeches in the park.
A picture of this beauty taken in 2010 is in the first comment box.
Thank you, Kerstin Frank and Lenabem-Anna for your beautiful textures.
Back to Greenland with a series of new images. Different approach in post-processing as I felt colors were somewhat detracting from the icebergs themselves. Shooting conditions for the first few days: cloudless dark blue skies, a nightmare for photographers! I had a try at B&W but felt that I was loosing something with the total absence of colors. So I experimented with a different combination of white balance/desaturation, and here it is... which, from my perspective, ends up with more subtle colors and stronger whites, highlighting the magnificence of those icebergs.
The magnificence of snowy mountains has always fascinated me.
Karlı dağların ihtişamı, beni her zaman büyülemiştir..
I wish I had spent longer with this wonderful young man! He looks quite menacing here but he is a gent. Photographed at Big Cat Sanctuary!

Abū ‘Abd Allāh Muḥammad ibn Ismā‘īl ibn Ibrāhīm ibn al-Mughīrah ibn Bardizbah al-Ju‘fī al-Bukhārī 19 July 810 – 1 September 870), or Bukhārī, commonly referred to as Imam al-Bukhari or Imam Bukhari, was a Persian Islamic scholar who was born in Bukhara (the capital of the Bukhara Region (viloyat) of Uzbekistan). He authored the hadith collection known as Sahih al-Bukhari, regarded by Sunni Muslims as one of the most authentic (sahih) hadith collections. He also wrote other books such as Al-Adab al-Mufrad.
Imam al-Bukhari was the great theologian of the East. He collected and recorded about 600 thousand hadith, i.e. legend based on cases of life or some sayings of the Prophet. Out of them, al-Bukhari selected as “flawless” about 7400 hadith to include into the famous “As-Sahih” which became the second most important book after the Koran for the majority of Sunni.
The mausoleum of Imam al-Bukhari presents in all of its magnificence. In the complex that occupies a vast territory, there are mausoleums, mosques, hotel for tourists and pilgrims, souvenir shops and religious literature.
The mausoleum of Imam al-Bukhari is one of the main pilgrimage sites in Uzbekistan. The visiting of three shrines in Samarkand – the mausoleums of al-Bukhari, Shakhi-Zinda and Rukhabad – within one day, is called “small Hajj”.
After a long and arduous hike in through deep snow we had arrived at Seamans Hut and went about setting up our campsite and enjoying a truly stunning afternoon. There hadn’t been a breath of wind and with the temperature only just below zero we were very comfortable.
Once the sun set we fired up our small gas cookers and heated up some dinner. When you’re in the mountains and bereft of common comforts such as light and TV time seems to really slow down and the evening was still young.
There are countless reasons why I love to escape city life. Amongst the many however, there is one which never ceases to impress me – that is, the colossal night sky. Away from the city lights the magnificence of the universe becomes undeniably amazing.
With the last light of the day finally gone the show had begun, above us was one huge sky and in front of me was one beautiful alpine hut that was so coincidently positioned perfectly below a quickly emerging milky way.
The temperature was dropping fast but it felt like I had all the time in the world.
Chinese palaces, temples and mansions have on their roofs a special kind of ornaments called wenshou or zoomorphic ornaments, some on the main ridges and some on the sloping and branch ridges.
The monstrous thing at either end of the main ridge, called chiwen, appears roughly like the tail of a fish. Fierce and formidable, it looks as if it were ready to devour the whole ridge; so it is also known as tunjishou or the ridge-devouring beast. It is, according to Chinese mythology, one of the sons of the Dragon King who rules the seas. It is said to be able to stir up waves and change them into rains.
So ancient Chinese put a chiwen at either end of the main ridge for its magic powers to conjure up a downpour to put out any fire that might break out. But for fear that it might gobble up the ridge, they transfixed it on the roof with a sword.
At the end of the sloping and branch ridges there are often a string of smaller animals, their sizes and numbers being decided by the status of the owner of the building in the feudal hierarchy.
These small animals were also believed to be capable of putting out fires. While this can be easily dismissed as superstition, they do add to the grandeur and magnificence of the imperial buildings.
Grandeur and magnificence of this canyon is beyond words! Have a wonderful day, dear Flickr friends.
Early, just as day breaks over the horizon, you'll feel these magnificent animals before you even see them.
Hooves thundering through the breaking surf, the sound so loud you'd swear you could feel it in your bones. They run not from fear or being chased, they run because they are free.
Finally, the large herd, colts sidling close to their mothers, stop in the tall summer grasses and you know, deep in your soul, you've just experienced magnificence. These are the Corolla Mustangs.

One of many beautiful views seen along this beautiful drive thru the Spray Valley Provincial Park in K Country. As impressive in it's own way as the magnificence of Banff.
A view looking west across Buller Pond, almost ice covered. My dear friend Sergio in the blue taking a shot. Looking forward to meeting up again soon to check out this year's snow and fill some cards.
Enjoy a wonderful Friday and weekend!
Hi all !!
I liked it so much that I made a small portrait of my paradox this time (to see the picture before : here !!). I hope you like it.
Story : "I am a paradox. I am the quintessence of the light that hides its intentions. Do you find it pleasant to contemplate beauty, which veils a nameless ugliness? What do you see when you contemplate me? Beauty or all the opposite?"
Thanks for watching and your support !! ♡

This peaceful scene is what you see if you turn from the walls of the Taj Mahal and look out over the river. What a contrast between natural splendor and architectural magnificence. I often think of the four men and where they were going and what they were doing during that working day.
Just had to share this magnificent sunset that I witnessed on Pacific Beach in Washington state. We go there every year, but this year the sunset seemed particularly beautiful and made me think of one of my favorite poems.
"The world is charged with the grandeur of God. It will flame out, like shining from shook foil ...
And though the last lights off the black West went
Oh, morning, at the brown brink eastward springs --
Because the Holy Ghost over the bent World broods with warm breast and with,
ah! bright wings."
~ Gerard Manley Hopkins
When it comes to photographing the autumn in all its magnificence this place, the Priessnitz waterfall in the Dresden Heather, is one of the best places around here for me. Because of this thick broadleaf forest, that is covering the ground with a carpet of leafs since decades, you have a tuly explosion of colours every year. When the leafs furthermore have this typical rain soaked glance its forming a farytale world.

Taroko Gorge, named after the Truku or Taroko aboriginal tribe, is one of Taiwan’s premier scenic attractions. Few visit without being blown away by its sheer magnificence and raw natural beauty. It is the star attraction of Hualien, Taiwan’s largest county, on the wild visually stunning east coast.

I love hiking in the redwood forests. There is nothing quite like it: The freshness and cool of the air, the light, and the magnificence of the old and giant trees. This scene is from Jedidiah Smith Redwood State Park in the northernmost part of California.
Driving along icefields parkway was an enjoyable experience, no matter it was sunshine, or cloudy. Stretching 232km (144mi.) through the heart of the Canadian Rocky Mountain Parks World Heritage Site, icefields Parkway is a must do when visiting Banff and Jasper, to experience the magnificence of such a powerful force of nature. Blue-green lakes, massive glaciers, and snowcapped Rocky Mountains peaks slow the pace on the two-lane ride. There will be a lot of unplanned breaks to check out the stunning landscapes. The photo was taken along one stop of the icefield parkway, the colorful late fall colors on the hills of the mountains and mountains peaks in front of you, you cannot move forward…
I will never forget the feeling I had as I arrived here ... I have been overwhelmed by the magnificence, greatness and perfection of what was in front of me ... I was so excited!, and, actually, I could have spent days there, taking thousand shots and enjoying every tiny detail - and guess what? I took thousands shots, but I have so few I can say to be satisfied with!
Who cares? Taking shots is, at least, for me the best way to get "into" things - everything is in my mind, and I will never forget this visit!
Thank you, JiBBR!
p.s. square or not square? this is the problem! ;-)

Spatial installation: wire mesh and tissue paper, 580x700x600 cm (detail)
by Sabine Emmerich
The artist analyses the relationship between nature, culture and society in her complex sculptures and installations. Here she uses Botticelli's painting, Birth of Venus, but allows this myth about the arrival of magnificence to spiral into a scene of doom. The female body is offered as a symbol of jeopardised identity, independence and integrity and, also, as a provenance of human life; its destruction heralds the end of all humanity.

Buschwindröschen - windflower (Anemone nemorosa)
Not everyone needs to ablaze it’s magnificence and grandeur (even if it’s only imagined) above everything and everyone else. Some are shining quite in obscurity. You have to look out to discover that beauty and it’s worth the effort, absolutely. Here we have, for example, a windflowers. Lots of them are blooming right now in our forests. A view to kneel down (otherwise you couldn’t photograph it by the way because it’s a tiny plant). Everywhere around us we can find such hidden beauties, and not only flowers. We just need to be willing to have a look.
Fractal pattern.
What a better occasion to use the vegetable theme to show the magnificence of Nature.
A fractal is a geometric object in which the same pattern appears at different levels in all directions.
In nature several examples of fractal patterns can be found (snowflakes ...).
The term "fractal" was first used by mathematician Benoit Mandelbrot in 1975 and comes from the Latin word frāctus, meaning "broken" or "fractured.
My Flickr pal Salva Benlloch. posted a shot the other day that reminded me of one I had taken just a couple of days ago! Might be fun to make it a project: Two humans and a pigeon!
BTW...yes, I do realize that Salva's intention was more to show off the square and its magnificence, but yeah...the street photographer in me had to see the two people and a pigeon! 😂
Do go and check out his photo stream if you get a chance!
