finally- a sunny afternoon after three weeks of solid rain.
popped this one on a lampost on my way home from work.
many thanks to dogtired for the magnets! how clever is that prinatble magnets! what will they think of next? (not sure but i'm sure dogtired will try it! lol)
I accidentally set up this mount incorrectly for the photo. (Sorry). the bolt is set into the wrong direction, but you can see that the L-bracket works to keep the camera close to the mount. This 65 lb pull magnet holds the camera well at various speeds. I use it on my sidecar all the time. I never use any mount without a tether strap of fishline though, just for safety sake.
This fragile monster only lasted a few minutes without supports. The corners were surprisingly the weakest connections. The original design was bigger, but I didn't have enough magnets. My favorite part of this design is the round tubes. Most frames have sharp edges or corners.
Made using the Flexible Tubes created by Damian O'Connor. This is my take on the technique he created. I like to call it "diagonal tubes" rather than "flexible tubes".

The Magna Latch is magnetically triggered. In other words, when the latch comes closed a magnet pulls a metal pin into a slot making a strong positive closure.

The small ones don't have a magnet. The medium ones do.
They all looked much bigger in their bags! Sunday, I'll get some big ones!
