Have you tried the magnet challenge? Free jewelry if you are magnetic. A few of us tried the magnetgate magnet challenge @ Union Square Park this past weekend during the Union Square Greenmarket, farmers market. Out of about 20 people who tried the magnetic challenge, (a line of people actually formed waiting to take the magnet challenge), about 15 people were magnetic though 10 people could be debunked as sweat and 3 people were magnetic who could feel and see the pull of the magnet. And the magnet did not fall off easily when shaken around. And some people got free jewelry. #magnetgate

My refrigerator magnet collection

Having worked for the same company for 34 years, at one time I was granted three weeks vacation a year. In 2012, I developed the idea of the "Birthdaycation." The company I worked for used to have birthday parties each month for everyone born that month, but this practice had diminished somewhat when I began taking the week of my birthday off and going "someplace special" on a "Birthdaycation."
The first one was to Catalina Island, only 26 miles off the shore of Los Angeles. I booked three nights in a Victorian themed hotel. Each year since then, I've increased my travel goals. In 2019 I began taking "spring" and "fall" trips. Now, a short 3-1/2 years after retirement, I have been taking four trips a year: two domestic (although one is to Hawai'i) and two international.
I'm excited about my upcoming international trip to Europe, covering the Netherlands, Belgium and Germany. Over two weeks I'll actually be in Europe, plus the full days it takes to fly there and back, so this will be my longest trip so far.
Just for fun, I began listing all the trips I've taken since 2012, excluding my home county of Los Angeles, or Orange County to the south. I have included Santa Barbara and San Diego, even though those are usually "day trips".
Here is the list. Fourteen years of refrigerator magnets. (I now put them on my oven and washing machine, since there's no room on the refrigerator.

The bag was full after only five days of catching - so I decided to show my Flickr friends what a good job the "Mosquito Magnets" do in the far north. Some folks didn't believe that the mosquito catchers, such as what we have, would work. The proof is in the last two photos I have posted. Now . . . I can't say what other less expensive brands would do - I just know that our brand works like a charm.
600 magnets. Each 20-magnet pentagon has a 30-magnet pentagonal pyramid mounted inside it pointing outwards. Magnet poles are aligned parallel to the perimeter of each pentagon. Adjacent pentagons have poles aligned in the same direction at the edges (as evidenced by square instead of triangular patterns at the edges).

This is a very popular and comfortable form of magnet therapy. This magnet pad is made to focus magnet therapy on the lower back. It's ideal for those who do not wish to wear a deluxe lumbar brace. It's simple and easy to slip under your shirt. A great form of magnet therapy.
