Magic, from thread to material.
We visit a weavery, specialised in linen and linen-velours, for a reportage.
It is a known fact that flax used to be grown in the Kortrijk area of Flanders, where the river Leie runs.
It is a food and fibre crop cultivated in cooler regions of the world.
The textiles made from flax are known as linen and traditionally used for bed sheets, underclothes, and table linen.
In this factory here, the treads come in and get woven into beautiful linen cloth and velvet.
Natural in colour.
whatever hobby or skill or job is around, they ALL have their own specific tools...
And sometimes I find the thought, that it is the brain and creativity of men that conceived and perfected them, quite overwhelming.

after the firefighters got the huge flag put up over the roadway where Chief Randy Lacy's funeral would be coming through, it was a somber sit and wait period. my son loves firefighters, and took up with this one, who passed the time by showing my son magic tricks.
this is the magic tree at school. everyone calls it that because it looks like it's magic and we found an unopened toblerone on one the branches the other week so we went around giving chocolate to random people at school, it made people smile.
