Built in 1898 and was the last municipal powder magazine in Georgia when it closed in 1963. Now sits abandoned near a busy commercial highway.
Proud to be a guest photographer for the latest issue of LTD magazine, my all time favorite of all the sl magazines.
I would like to thank everyone that gave me the opportunity and spent time working on the pages.
Hope you enjoy the issue just like I greatly did from cover to cover.

I was featured on the cover of this local skateboard magazine called Grind back in the mid-eighties, fun stuff
Image published in the September 2025 edition of Sky and Telescope magazine.
Image:
This image is comprised of Ha and OIII band data, and for the first time I have a target where the OIII signal is far stronger than the Ha signal. In my rendering of this image that I posted a week ago, I could barely, if at all, see any evidence of the Ha in the image.
I altered my PixInsight workflow three ways to improve the original image and obtain this result. Before mapping the Ha and OIII to the RGB channels, I applied LinearFit to increase the intensity of the Ha data to match the OIII. After mapping Ha and OIII to the RGB channels, I applied SPCC, this time with Ideal QE Curve selected, and using Photon Flux for the Whte Reference. And lastly, I selected OIII as luminance when I mixed the colors in NarrowbandNormalization.
As a result of the alternate processing, I can see Ha depicted as a goldish color in the outlying wispy areas, and within the target object.
Equipment:
ZWO ASI6200MM-P/EFW 2" x 7 (HO)
TeleVue NP101is (4" f/4.3)
Losmandy G11
Software:
Captured in NINA
Processed in PixInsight
Finished in Affinity Photo
Integration:
Ha 20 x 600s = 3:20
OIII 26 x 600s = 4:20
Total integration: 7:40

Like Most Men my age, I grew Up in an Era where Comic Books where the daily digest in my town. In those days a graphic novel was a mere 25cents and you could buy 12 books for $3.00 I think thats about the average price of one magazine these days. LOL Anyway.....I Thrived on reading Marvel & DC Comics by the time I was 13 I had well over 2,500 or more. and I kept mine in the protective plastic bags and boxed according to hero or the group that they were in*
I even learned how to draw from reading these things and wanting to emulate what I saw everyday. Boy Stan Lee really had a major Impact on my childhood! Dark Knight/Detective Comics & The X-Men were always my favorite comics. And like most "Wolverine & Batman" were my fav. characters. It wasnt until much, much later on in life that these Superheroes were made into major motion picture Idols.
With the rise of technology and special effects Hollywood has been able to produce what I read for so many years on the silver screen. I think if I had to choose being one of these Superheroes in "real life" it would Most Def. have to be
"THE DARK KNIGHT"..........:))

Here we had to pick between four different magazines to "work for." There was Seventeen Magazine featuring a new teenie-bopper, Time Magazine featuring a retired politician, Sports Illustrated featuring an athlete, and Wired Magazine featuring an eclectic computer nerd millionaire. Guess which one I picked...THE GEEK, of course! haha
I LOVE how it turned out!

These scans come from my rather large magazine collection. Instead of filling my house with old moldy magazines, I scanned them (in most cases, photographed them) and filled a storage area with moldy magazines. Now they reside on an external harddrive. I thought others might appreciate these tidbits of forgotten history.
Please feel free to leave any comments or thoughts or impressions... Thanks in advance!
31110 'TRACTION magazine' poses at Old Oak Common during an open day on the 6th of August 2000. A grim one, but it does have something of an atmosphere about it.
