Tiny Teddy thought this corksrew was a metal frame. Not only that he always wants to be part of every photo, he now insists such photos must be framed :-)) /
Silver earrings handmade for me back in the 70's back in Cornwall. Rarely worn as they are a pain to clean.
The length of each earring is 3.175 cm (.1.25) inches.

For Macro Mondays - Made of Metal
Someone didn't hammer this nail all the way in.
Happy Macro Monday!
For the Macro Mondays theme: Made of Metal, I decide to use my elephant earrings. A birthday present some years ago.
Since they can't stand on their own I had to hang them on a string and then take the picture. It took me some time before they hung properly.
Happy Macro Monday !!
Wishing you all a wonderful new week ahead ;-))
For the Macro Mondays theme "Made of Metal".
For me the challenge was how to get a good reflection on a metal surface without me in the shot ;-)
Thanks to Helen Orozco for this interesting challenge ;-)
Happy Macro Monday everyone!
I have like five of these little vintage style lamps and I use scented oil for them. They are very cheap and practical when the power goes out and that is very rare, unless there is bad weather. For this photo I removed the glass cover to show only the metal part.
An old light fixture, a wire sphere which housed a halogen bulb, set against a colourful background.

Golden (brass plated) fasteners that I keep in a drawstring bag, so they don't lose their shine.
Brass is an alloy of copper and zinc, in proportions which can be varied to achieve different colors and mechanical, electrical, and chemical properties, but copper typically has the larger proportion.

Macro Mondays 05/11/18 theme Intended Contact
Two intended contacts, the first being my thumb on the wheel and the second the flint pressing against the wheel.I set the camera up for a long exposure capture using the flash to capture most of the detail in the first part of the exposure and the remaining time to capture the sparks.
Macro Mondays - Made of Metal
Happy Macro Monday everyone.
Look what I found whilst emptying the dishwasher this morning ... tiz one of those little tea infuser ball thingies, just big enough for a teaspoon of loose tea.

Espressolöffel für Macro Mondays...
hatte ich schon erwähnt, dass ich sehr gerne Espresso trinke? Bestimmt.
Something my father made, a small but sturdy tube with a screw top to keep coins in. He was always tinkering on his capstan lathe, making things like this and I am sorry to say, while he was alive we didn't really appreciate his work. Only today, in close up, I saw the intricate decoration on this container.
I used a sheet with colourful glass stones as background, found in my cardmaking box.

Oh, dear. I must have a "last photo, last chance to participate" subscription. This image was taken an hour before the last-minute (Monday evening) upload. I wasn't sure what to do for the theme (so many possibilities!), and only today did I have the idea to photograph the tiny golden crown which you have already seen for "High Key". Said and done, but there was something vital missing from all the photos.
But then, when I thought about a title for the photo (I had already decided to pick one of the slightly boring "crown only" photos), the title of a film classic with Audrey Hepburn and Gregory Peck came to mind: A Roman Holiday. Now you will say: "But neither words, heart nor crown, are part of the title?!?" Well, not of the original title, but of the German one – which is "Ein Herz und eine Krone": Heart and Crown. The only problem was that the heart (which you have seen already for another MM theme as well: "Key"; you'll find both images in the first comment) was missing from the photos I'd taken so far.
Which meant that I had to start all over again. The plan was to focus mainly on the crown, but I didn't like any of those images, because the focus never was in the right spot. Focus stacking wasn't indicated this time, either, because this was an image that required some bokeh. So I gave it one last try, this time with focus on the tiny silver heart pendant only, and I let the small crown "do" what it can do best: dissolve into nice bokeh. Long live the last-minute idea ;)
HMM, Everyone!
