This 1" x 1" keychain was given to me many years ago. It was a gift from a man named Samir who was from Cairo, Egypt. My colleagues and I trained Samir how to use our software and he gave me this keychain as a token of his appreciation.

Of course today I felt only appropriate to use a speech quote by Martin Luther King.
Twist the metal plunger in the wooden peg sound box and through their friction it makes various bird sounds (chirps/whistles/squeaks, etc.). It confuses the birds somewhat but sometimes brings them out into the open where you can observe them......or take their photo. The 'bird call' is only 2 inches total length so easy to carry in your pocket. The screw on one end is into the metal piece via a larger hole in the wood piece base to prevent the two pieces from totally separating. Noticed these while out walking at sunrise, not sure of the name of these I thought they might have been called foxes tail? but these are really small so not sure. In close with the Sony macro 30mm lens although it is a little on the small side and all things considered still worked out ok, lining up with sunrise lighting up the mist and dew drops giving some haze in the distance.
All things here are natural, the day time temperature the day before being hot with an overnight drop in temperature to form dew creating here what looks like jewels lit by the morning sunrise and mist adding nicely...

It took me a while to appreciate both the taste and the look of the Pistachio nut, but now I can’t do without my weekly bag! Still, they aren’t exactly lookers though.

The alpha and the omega. Physicists have been working to develop the "holy grail" therory that mathematically explains the behavior of the universe from the very small - quantum level particles, to the massively large - galaxies, black holes and dark matter. String theory has moved the thinking beyond just the newtonian (large) and quantum (small) prior successes but there are still large gaps in their understanding and mathematical underpinnings have been elusive. Found this small wine glass in the china closet that has a ‘fractured glass’ treatment of some sort. I don’t know how this is done but it looks awesome and gives you a sense that it will simply break in your hand if you use it spilling that precious elixir. I played around with it a bit to see how to present it to stay within the size limits. Submittal for the Aug 24,2020 Macro Monday’s theme of “Glass.”

My husband found this while working out in the field sampling water at a coal mine.

Man, I’m really lost.
My keychain safety items: 1) Cash canister with $20 note in case I'm ever standed in Arizona and need money for a beer and cheeseburger, 2) My trusty multi function Victorinox knife in case I need to cut down a tree to make a fire, 3) A mini LED flashlight in case I find myself in absolute darkness and need to see what’s biting my leg, and 4) A whistle in case I fall off a trail, roll down a steep ridge past a big log and get wedged under thick brushes next to a mosquito infested creek.......and need to get someone's attention.
