Photo taken for MacroMonday's theme "In the Dark."
These were taken in candlelight. Only ONE candle illuminated this shot.
My take on it this week came up pretty easy but I needed time to shoot it. So I did my duty tonight.
In my kitchen I had the ceiling light bulb go out so I took off the cover and there were two bulbs in there. One was in there for a while because it was a size I have not heard of. 50 watt. Not 25 or 60, but 50. It was made by GE and this house was built in 1947. I have one other bulb still working in my basement shaped a little different than any others and that is a 50 watt also. I'd say that is very old. Well, older than me is very old.
They don't make them like the used to. Like Me.
Happy MacroMonday people.
for MacroMonday's weekly challenge. This week's challenge: Cooking Ingredients.
I try to dehydrate a few Vidalia onions before the season is over so I have something to use when times are more lean.

This week we have been challenged to take a macro photo of darkness and post up to five images on Monday depicting our take on the subject.
Well, cameras were invented to capture LIGHT so they are useless in total darkness so I guess we have to let a little light shine. Hide it under a bushel? No!
Photo taken with an older Nikon D50. Snooted studio light above fired with ebay trigger.
Just fixed my variable power switch on my studio light power supply. This was fried when I got it (used) and finally took it apart to replace the switch.
8 feet away I was shooting at 100 ISO and F11, now I can go f8 (just about right) or f22 (scorching eyebrows).
My final, at the wire submission for MacroMonday's weekly theme. This week's theme was 'six.' Each week we follow a theme and post up to five macro photos showing our interpretation of the theme. Photo taken for the flickr MacroMonday's group. Each week we post up to five images depicting our interpretation to the theme. This week's theme is "imagination"
I imagined a lot of scenes. This one was more for fun. I wish I had a pile of Lego building blocks handy. I would have come up with something with those also.

In my recent trip I was walking through a garden when unexpectedly I saw a long line of ants carrying pieces of leafs. So I took out my macro 100 lens and started to take some shots of the ants.
It is very difficult to take a nice shot because they move so fast .

Ahh, here we are again at MacroMonday's suggested theme of the week..
This week's theme is 'Security." Each week we post up to five images in the MacroMonday flickr group showing our interpretation of the theme.
This week I 'shot' a lot more than five so it has been kind of hard to edit my choices down to five. I took five different macros of my 9mm and only want to use one so I guess this is my top choice.
I haven't lost many of my bike locks and I have lost none of my bikes.
One of my sons lost a bike but we recovered it in a couple days mostly in tact by putting up 'stolen bike' signs very quickly. (Do you have photos of your Earthly goods?) Anyways, He didn't lock it and left it next to the local grocery market where he worked for 'just a minute' while he went in to ask his boss something. Only problem with that is it was located right next to a City High School. Someone skipped school that day to steal a bike.
So, here we are again at MacroMonday's suggested theme of the week..

For MacroMonday's Mailbox Theme. Here's the link to my offering from the mailbox theme from 5 years ago.
flic.kr/p/4ZUuXi Different mailboxes on opposite ends of the country...Oh how my life has changed in 5 years....
And on a side note, now that the school year is coming to an end and I'm winding up all my projects and finals for the year, I endeavor to shoot more for pleasure and hopefully I'll be able to participate in MM more frequently. It really helps to keep those creative juices flowing.
Ahh, MacroMonday's pool. Each week we follow a different theme to look for and capture images relating to it.
This weeks theme has been "from the fridge."
My first thought was, "moldy cheese" and other icky things but i then thought that the fridge was meant to keep things fresh and delicious.
Here are a few of my thoughts captured to display this theme.
This is my hardest image to display. It shows my weakness... French Onion chip dip. I pulled this from teh fridge and want to show what it it like to only have a small amount of chip dip left and so many more chips remaining to eat.
Last minute drop in the MacroMonday's pool.
Each week we follow a theme but this week I have been busy but might get these in the pool before it closes.
This weeks theme was Colored Glass. I knew what I wanted to shoot but didn't get to until this morning.
Okay, fine?
Midgetoy. Rockford, Illinois.
MacroMonday's theme this week is "Being Busy" I'm getting busy again shooting toys and antiques for a friend who sells things on ebay for jillions of dollars.
One way I keep busy and put bread on the table.
For MacroMonday's theme: Hobbies.
I have a bad addiction to Star Wars merchandise. I collect it religiously. A fun hobby, though. This is a Galactic Heroes C-3PO. I collect carded action figures as well and I especially like international carded variations (Japanese, Chinese, Euro, Italian, UK, Korean, etc.) of the POTF2 (1997-1998) series.
for the weekly macromonday's pool challenge.
I am so pumped up. I bought a half dozen Medium sized shirts last night and they all fit me fine. No more large or XL shirts.

MacroMonday's theme this week is "Drips, Drops, Splashes"
