Me ha parecido muy interesante la historia que acompaña al nombre de esta plaza...
Se encuentra en la zona sur del casco viejo y toma su nombre, del machete sobre el que juraba su cargo el Procurador Sindico General. La ceremonia se celebraba anualmente el día de San Miguel, en el altar mayor de la iglesia que lleva su nombre.
El procurador, después de haber jurado su cargo en la mencionada iglesia, lo ratificaba sobre un machete, con el que se le amenazaba si no cumplía las obligaciones que le correspondían, que eran las de defender los derechos y leyes de la Ciudad.
La frase de rigor era la siguiente: ” CON ÉSTE ME QUITEN LA VIDA SI NO HICIERA TODO LO QUE CONVIENE PARA LA DEFENSA DE ESTA CIUDAD Y SU JURISDICCIÓN”.
La ceremonia se celebraba con gran concurrencia de gente y con el acompañamiento de clarines y tambores.
Esta curiosa costumbre se vino celebrando hasta el año 1841, tras la Primera Guerra Carlista.
Hoy en día se ha convertido en un espacio público utilizado principalmente para la realización de actos culturales.

Inspired by the machetes used in Dishonored.This modern machete with an ancient touch is heavy like a cane machete with tapanga and coping styling and a chisel like pick on the tip of the blade.The ''Warmach'' is meant to be used as a weapon more than a tool thus has a finger guard to protect against hand slippage and enemy blades.The ''Warmach'' can be used one handed with proper technique as well as two at a time for a very formidable warrior.The red silk ribbon on the pommel reads Honor.

Machete fashions himself after the greasers of the '50s, idolizing the movie stars who portrayed them. A reckless youth who took his father's motorcycle and his grandpa's machete once he turned 18 and hit the road. He traveled the country looking for trouble anywhere he could. He met the Dreadnoks after being caught up in the middle of a fight in an Arizona bar. The 'noks were impressed after he took down 3 rival bikers. It earned him his nickname and his chance to be a prospect. He's since moved up to specializing in shotguns but still keeps the machete close by for when something gets personal.
Machete is not your typical Dreadnok, he's a cocky, good-looking smooth talker and knows how to blend in. This makes him an asset when Zartan needs a job done that requires a more inconspicuous approach.
At long last I've finished my take on Marcos' Machete custom.
