A great light show at the Muskegon lighthouse...:))

There must have been a lot of nutrient blown ashore to fertilize the wildflowers at the shore of Lake St. Clair (Michigan). The pink flowers in the foreground are Common Milkweed, a favorite of Monarch Butterflies. Behind are Blue Vervain, and the wild snakelike whips with yellow clusters of flowers are Black Mustard.

The tallest of the flowers was taller than me! 5'11" (180cm)

The Red-winged Blackbirds have arrived in full force so it must be Spring.

:~)

Must be the cold medicine LOL

A grizzly in Denali National Park on the hunt for sustenance.

By August, which is early Autumn in Alaska, grizzlies are eating constantly, predominantly soapberries and blueberries. This mama bear had two older cubs with her, and their hyperphagia made them nearly oblivious to the tour bus driving along the road.

A Delightful Morning in the Garden :)

I must look clueless when I am out shooting and have sad puppy dog eyes were friendly people want to help correct my ways.

On this sunset, I was at Panorama Point in Capitol Reef National Park. The "view" is the opposite direction, and I was set up with my tripod looking in the opposite direction from everyone else.

Three separate people came up to me, letting me know where I was supposed to be shooting. I thanked them for their kindness and stood my ground :-)

A MUST VIEWED LARGE!!!

This is one of my all time favourite image because of its unusualness, This is again off the shore at Whitstable kent, England, we came across this fisherman wading about 100 yards in the sea but what makes this for unusual is those wind turbines in the distance ! I have not seen anything like this before!

I don't normally post on weekends so it must be good right?

"And it's falling apart

Around us now

The room in a spin

I hear the howl of the wind

Surviving, surviving

Surviving, surviving

And nothing else"

The Show Must Go On - Queen

Empty spaces, what are we living for?

Abandoned places, I guess we know the score, on and on

Does anybody know what we are looking for?

Another hero, another mindless crime

Behind the curtain, in the pantomime

Hold the line

Does anybody want to take it anymore?

The show must go on

The show must go on, yeah

Inside my heart is breaking

My makeup may be flaking

But my smile, still, stays on

Whatever happens, I'll leave it all to chance

Another heartache, another failed romance, on and on

Does anybody know what we are living for?

I guess I'm learning

I must be warmer now

I'll soon be turning, round the corner now

Outside the dawn is breaking

But inside in the dark I'm aching to be free

The show must go on

The show must go on

Inside my heart is breaking...

Snowdonia in such great weather must be as close to heaven one can be. Back from a wonderful walk, on superb paths and with a marvellous little cafe to visit on the way back home!

Snowdonia is a fantastick part of Britain for those who want to walk in beautiful landscape and be able to get great views with moderate efforts.

We have been here twice in April, and the weather have been rather nice both times. I can imagine how wonderful it must be in summer on a nice day. But I suppose it will be rather crowded here then. And the price of B/B and self catering much higher. And there is also the little problem that as a farmer is it impossble for me to go in summer :-)

There are many more photos from the walk down from Y-Garn, and our lunch at the amazing little cafe named... well, look through the pictures and find out what it is named. The name couldn't have been more wrong!

Yes, you guessed it...stop to smell the roses. Especially when so perfect and later in the season than normally seen. Obviously just bloomed with other buds visible and also about ready to pop. A deeper color than the lighter pink usually found. A very pleasing and surprising discovery off the path chronicled over the last few days. (Rosa arkansana -- Wild Prairie Rose)

It must have been a good dream, it looks as though this fox is smiling as it wakes up from a nap.

It is amazing that a fox can sleep comfortably in temperatures well below freezing. It's common to see a fox sound asleep on top of the snow, especially on sunny spring days.

Chances are, there is a den nearby and this fox's mate was attending the kits.

There must be something in the Engine Room that needs protecting, they've posted some seriously well-armed but super chic guards are on the gates...

One must have a mind of winter

To regard the frost and the boughs

Of the pine-trees crusted with snow;

And have been cold a long time

To behold the junipers shagged with ice,

The spruces rough in the distant glitter

Of the January sun; and not to think

Of any misery in the sound of the wind,

In the sound of a few leaves,

Which is the sound of the land

Full of the same wind

That is blowing in the same bare place

For the listener, who listens in the snow,

And, nothing himself, beholds

Nothing that is not there and the nothing that is.

--Wallace Stevens (1879-1955)

I must say, the skies here in the Midwest can sure put on a show at times. The sky was at peak prettiness on the day that I captured this shot. Oh, if only the sky could look like this everyday! I would just have to live outdoors!

Where the sun rises, it must also set again. This rule also applies here in Tuscany. And of course I tried to capture these moments here as well.

For this sunset I only had to walk a few hundred meters, I had this great view directly from my pitch, an organic farm, which also provides a few pitches for mobile homes.

The business is called Il Casala and offers a restaurant as well as a farm shop. For both, only products that are also produced here are offered. (no paid advertising!, still highly recommended).

From a photographer's point of view, there was only one difficulty. Tall trees grow around the plateau on which the farm is located, restricting or even completely blocking the view. So the composition of the photo was quite a bit of a challenge.
