1960s high tech! A compact cassette for music. Developed in 1963 by Philips of The Netherlands. Made music truly portable and personal.
Here the 3.8mm wide iron oxide coated tape streams over a plastic foam pad. The pad presses the tape against the record/playback head.
Taken in Tuscania, Italy. Spent the day in this delightful town. Well worth a visit if you are this way.
Special effect's by William Walton & Topaz.

This room is filled with musical instruments from all over the world. On the walls, we see string instruments from Japan, China, and Vietnam.
On the ground, there are drums and an African balafon (xylophone). Besides old pianos, we also discover a harpsichord (the red instrument).

[Song: "When The Music Dies" by Nad Sylvan , off the 2017 album "The Bride Said No"]
This is a little part of an 1930th clarinet, had to borrow it, no musical instruments in our house.
I have no idea what exactly this is, so abstract sounds good to me.
This is about 4cm.
Happy Macro Monday.
