The rockets and their payloads are designed to fly to between 4,000 and 5,500 feet in altitude before deploying recovery systems that brings them safely to the ground.

Preliminary winners of the 2018 Student Launch competition were announced at an awards ceremony April 7, sponsored and hosted by Orbital ATK’s Propulsion Systems Division of Promontory, Utah, at the U.S. Space & Rocket Center.
