In the middle of our garden stands a Monkey Puzzle tree (Araucaria araucana). It is something of an ancient survivor - a living fossil, native of Chile with thick, razor sharp, tough triangular leaves forming in a geometric pattern. Not suitable as dinosaur-salad and definitely not one to climb. Standing around 25m, it is visible from quite a distance. Our specimen is a male - evidenced by its long cones. It adds a ring of branches each year and until quite recently you could just about count them - we reckon it is around 50 years old now, having been planted by my in-laws at around the time of Liese's birth.

The lines on the middle shot are power lines by the way which gave somewhat accidental inspiration for the composition.

A friend of mine wants to buy a Piaggio MP3 so we went to a dealer for a testdrive; we drove the MP3 500, 400 and 250.

They had the new Peugeot Metropolis in the shop as well.

I gotta say; these three wheel motorscooters ride much better than i expected, they handle very well actually.
