More monster bears I don't know for sure if these are males I assume so because of their size. My friend Anthony Bucci and I will be back to this location every day that we can. We have seen wolf tracks nearby so this could get interesting.
It is a painting on the front of this place that has been closed for years...

2 years ago I took a few photos of Moe in his shop, he had just turned 93. Now, having just turned 95 and still a staple of New York's Little Italy, he has succumbed to the virus. Albanese Meats has been on Elizabeth Street since 1923. We've been getting Thanksgiving turkeys from him for decades. I hope his daughter will keep the shop open.
Moe: But we aren't catching anything...
Joe: Hmmm, from what I understand, that doesn't matter. It is just relaxing to sit and do nothing.
And breath fresh air.
Moe: And you are still wearing that silly hat.
Joe: It suits me. Let's fish.

Shot Info - Simple ice drop shot from about a foot and a half high (my timing has become impeccable). Water and red food colouring in the glass with a little spritz of Ronsonal lighter fluid for dramatic effect..... light 'er with a match, make sure your insurance policy is up to date, and go to town. lol
Strobist Info - Snooted sb600 aimed at base of martini glass to not blow out the highlights in the flames - 1/4 power. White background and base (adjusted in PS), black side shields on each side.
I've posted several times that Moe is a very sensitive cat. I had a call early this morning letting me know than my Mom had fallen twice within the past day. Depending on what happens I may need to go out west. The cats & Jake sense when I'm concerned about something. Most of them go away, realizing I'm not in a mood to play. Moe stays close by - not in the way - but close enough that I can reach over & pet his fur or stroke his chin. I think he knows that I need him in a different way during those situations.

Moe: Um. No.
I drove down to Nubble for sunrise this morning. Finding it lackluster, I decided to wander up the coast a bit and enjoy the morning. My first stop was Marginal Way in Ogunquit. I named this image 'Moe's Rocks' in honor of Moe Chen Photography, who popularized this spot with his amazing images about 6 years ago. Perhaps photographers were coming here before, but I believe his work really inspired a lot of the new digital landscape folks to give this spot a try. I know it did for me.
Anyways, I was mainly here to enjoy the walk, and I did. It was very warm with the most amazing smells coming from the ocean and the flowering shrubs such as honeysuckle and rosa rugosa that line the path. I took a few snapshots just for fun, and wandered all the way from Perkins Cove past the security camera lighthouse (whatever that thing is, haha). Walking down a set of stairs to the ocean, I saw a familiar rock formation on one of the sandy beaches, and knew that Moe had captured one of my favorite images of his there. The light wasn't the best, but some nice crepuscular rays had formed on the horizon where the sun was shining through the clouds. I waited for the waves to lap perfectly among the rocks in front of me, and captured my image.
