and we're having warm spells, hot and humid.
I had a problem with this print. I've been down for a week and on some days spent at least 20 hrs/day sleeping.
after a ER visit last thursday and reconnecting with my doctor this morning, I'm now on a medication vacation. i.e. I went off all but a couple essential meds.
the print was put out one evening when I managed to make it downstairs to grab a lily. I forgot it the next day and it fused nicely to the glass in the heat. I couldn't even get it to soak off.
so I repaired what i could and am presenting it here.
I will be trying to catch up as I feel better.

Mount Moriah Cemetery is a historic cemetery located in southwest Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. Established in 1855, it spans over 200 acres, crossing the border of Philadelphia and Yeadon, in Delaware County. It was designed as a rural, nonsectarian cemetery, serving as the final resting place for people from diverse religious and cultural backgrounds. Notable burials include Betsy Ross, the creator of the American flag, though she was later re-interred elsewhere, actor John Barrymore, and Veterans from various American wars.
By the late 20th century, Mount Moriah Cemetery had fallen into disrepair, with years of neglect and mismanagement leading to the overgrowth of vegetation and the gradual decay of its monuments. In 2011, the cemetery's last known owner passed away, and the Mount Moriah Cemetery Preservation Corporation (MMPC) was created to maintain and restore the cemetery.
The efforts to reclaim Mount Moriah Cemetery began in earnest around 2011-2012, when community volunteers, historians, and other concerned citizens formed the Friends of Mount Moriah Cemetery (FOMMCI). They undertook the massive task of clearing overgrown vegetation, repairing damaged monuments, and maintaining the cemetery grounds. Alongside this work, they have also been raising awareness about the cemetery's historic and cultural significance, hosting tours and events to engage the community.
The work of the FOMMCI and MMPC is ongoing, as they continue to restore and maintain the cemetery, preserving its legacy for future generations. They rely on grants, donations, and volunteer support to fund and complete their projects. In recent years, the cemetery has seen a resurgence of interest and appreciation, thanks to the tireless work of those dedicated to its preservation.

I had another doctor's appointment a year ago. After that (unsatisfactory) interview I headed for Riverside Park in Dewitt, then wandered across Bridge Street to explore Memorial Park. The best photo I found in Dewitt was this one.
On my way to Dewitt I pretty much accidentally found myself at Gunnisonville, where I photographed a pretty country church.

'Twas a new month, so I imposed new "rules" on myself. Nothing unusual here, actually: My Olympus E-M1, any lens, mostly monochrome, the same rotating framing I'd been using all year. As always, I felt free to violate the rules on any given day.
I'm not sure you can call this treatment "monochrome." DxO does; PhotoLab says it's Silver Shade. They've apparently based the look on Impossible's PX 600 instant camera film.

A splash of color found on a day with dull light.
I took one last trip to East Lansing last year. On my way home I photographed a couple churches for my sister, then stopped at Hunters Orchard Park in Delta Township just to see what I could find on that trail.
I posted an image of a squirrel for my daily-photo project and dedicated the pic to Corey Seeman, for obvious reasons.
One of the pix I took for Debbie deserves a link because it's an interesting story.

-Établir un décompte des 200 chansons les plus populaires et marquantes pour souligner le 35ème anniversaire du record de cote d’écoute du FM93 à Québec en 1987 fût à la fois agréable et tiraillant, bien sûr c’est subjectif, bien sûr ce n’est pas scientifique au sens large du terme.
Toutefois, puisqu’on voulait vraiment faire revivre les grosses années du 93, (1982-1991) on ne pouvait pas se tromper en regardant les palmares de l’époque, puisque j’ai aussi une très bonne mémoire, -même rendu à mon âge-, une bonne partie du travail de recherche était ainsi facilité, les années 1983 à 1989-90 en particulier nous ont donné une abondance de musique de qualité.
-Presque tous les titres du Top 10 du décompte auraient pu se retrouver en première position, mon choix final et “déchirant » s’arrête avec la chanson numéro 1 de 1988, « Beds are burning » du groupe Australien Midnight Oil, une des nombreuses découvertes du 93 qu’on s’est, approprié et diffusé en masse comme j’explique dans le paragraphe suivant, je tenais aussi à privilégier une chanson aux alentours de notre record de l’été 1987.
-Je tiens à souligner aussi la “largeur” du catalogue musical du 93, évidemment, le rock a été la base musicale de notre format, par contre les gros hits “pop”de Madonna, Michael Jackson et Prince ont été des artistes marquants de la décennie 80 ainsi que notre produit franco québecois, incluant nos primeurs venus d’Europe qui ont définis de façon unique le son du 93 .
Toute cette époque excitante alors que la radio musicale comblait les auditeurs de 7 ans à 77 ans + est maintenant disparu, depuis quelques décennies les grandes compagnies corporatives se disent, faut être prudent (safe), jouer la “game” des 25-54 ans, question de vie ou de mort établi par la grande majorité des agences de placement publicitaire.
-Le FM 93 était un bastion pour la découverte de nouveautés musicales, découvrir les “hits” les diffuser et se les approprier, les plus jeunes auditeurs (12-18) de même que ceux dans la vingtaine en redemandaient continuellement, les compagnies de disques supportaient nos efforts avec des achats en pub, promotions, entrevues et visite dans nos locaux avec les artistes alors que depuis plusieurs années leur “focus” se trouve dans la profitabilité des ventes du catalogue, négocier les droits d’édition des plus grands artistes etc,. pas besoin de chercher longtemps pour réaliser que le manque flagrant de musique actuelle intéressante et excitante, jumelé à l’incontournable règle des agences et du dogme des 25-54 ans font que la radio musicale rencontre des problèmes depuis lors, des multitudes d’articles et d’opinions sur le sujet le reconnaissent que, “that new music has seen better days”.

An appointment in Lansing let me get away from the village last December 14, so I parked beside Elderly Instruments and just wandered around a bit. About half of my pix were of the North Lansing Dam; several others were for my sister's cross collection.
This outtake's of a house at the corner of Capitol Avenue and Maple Street. I really like that yard.

In summer '73, a westbound PC SSW runthrough train was passing the great old station at Brinkley, AR. The train is heading compass south and banging across the Rock Island diamond behind me. In the distance, a Memphis bound Cotton Belt train is about to make a ninety degree hard right turn and exercise trackage rights on the Rock Island to reach Memphis.
