Stagecoach East Kent Volvo B8RLE - Plaxton Panther LE - YX19 MMF (80043) is seen at Chatham Bus Station on route M2 to North Greenwich on 29th October 2019
Following right behind S27 PCC was former Reading Buses YN08 MMF, still in Reading livery with its old fleet number 1110. Off to Horncastle with a 457, it is seen leaving Lincoln central bus station on 2.2.23
Here's the PC Coaches version of a 47, which tends to use a decker because it does some kind of school thing after completing the 13:15 Newark to Lincoln journey. Omnicity YN08 MMF sets off on the 11:50 to Newark, seen crossing Lincoln's Pelham bridge on 6.4.23 (which was the school holiday but it was still a decker for some reason).
I had hoped to get both this and the Centrebus 47 one behind the other crossing the bridge, but because Lincoln's buses tend to use their timetables more like a rough guide, they ended up departing a minute apart from each other.
I don't understand why the journeys are duplicated, because first I thought the 47 was a PC Coaches commercial route, but with Centrebus 'taking over' I then wondered if it was a contracted route... yet if it was a contracted route then why are there now two different operators running it? The official "Notices and Proceedings" document shows the Centrebus 47 was registered at short notice, but nothing regarding the PC Coaches 47, which has evidently stayed the same.
There's a bit of variation between the two, at least from what I've seen on Bustimes, for example PCC run a 13:50 from Lincoln and Centrebus don't, while Centrebus run a 14:55 from Lincoln but PCC don't. Most of the journeys duplicate each other though, including the 13:15 from Newark to Lincoln. This one I highlight specifically because PC Coaches optimistically think the bus timetabled to arrive into Newark at 13:20 can run the next service that departs five minutes before. Apparently PC Coaches can time travel!?
None of it makes any sense to me.
