The image of Jbone cocking his head to the side, giving a one eyed glare with his feet positioned due to lack of traction on the floor. This picture is especially important for my portfolio because it is for my first project turned into MCOM 3365. The immaturity is quite obvious in the development of this image. The lack of cropping and over simplistic approach merely achieved the required standards for the assignment. This assignment was full of freedom by being able to choose my own subject and ultimately the overally theme of the assignment.

My love of words started when I was very young. I enjoy spending afternoons surrounded by books, whether that be in a secondhand book store or Barnes & Noble. Choosing my degree was not difficult when I began at WT, and I have fallen in love with the English department. Pictured here is a book shelf, Fiction & Literature, at Barnes & Noble. I specifically chose to capture a row of books published by Penguin USA. This summer I plan on pursuing an internship with this renowned publisher whose symbol is, as suggested, a penguin--"dignified but flippant." This photo demonstrates perspective and lines.

I have always wanted to travel to and within Africa. Recently I was honored to be invited on a trip to South Africa. Along with Africa I have always enjoyed a good cup of coffee--and Palace Coffee Company is just the place. This picture was taken inside the Canyon location. The south wall has been chipped away in certain areas to reveal the brick underneath. I have always thought that this particular brick exposure looks similar to the shape of Africa. This photo is a demonstration of simplicity, lines, and framing.
4-18-18 | SUN-e Picture of the Day: Shenandoah's MCOM 395 Multimedia Journalism class, taught by Assistant Professor of Mass Communication Glenn Osten Anderson, MFA, MSt, took a field trip on April 16, to the Washington D.C., news bureau of the British Broadcasting Corporation (BBC), where Anderson used to work. Students spoke with BBC editors, producers and on-air personalities about their jobs, career paths and how a global news company operates. The students also sat in the control room during a live global broadcast of BBC World News America. (PHOTOS: Glenn Anderson)
