I like it because of illusionary emptiness. I waited for the moment but effectively it was a happy coincidence, and then quickly the street became full of cars again.

Two Nottingham NET (Nottingham Express Transit) trams passing each other in Market Square. The nearest one is named after the Nottinghamshire and England cricketer Stuart Broad MBE. Having ridden this tramway network I must say I'm highly impressed with it.
Awarded in June 1984, for his dedicated service to the Commonwealth War Graves Commission. At the end of the war he was offered a position with the Commission and had numerous postings throughout Europe, remaining with them until he retired at 64. Sadly he was diagnosed with cancer soon after retirement and died within a year. See first comment below.

John McGuinness MBE, on a factory Honda during TT 2025. One of the all time greats of the IOM TT course. I have always struggled to get good, focused pictures of him (he really doesn't hang around), but on this occasion I got a few of him on the back wheel further down the road and managed to hold focus until he was almost filling the frame.

My friend, and dog walking customer, Winifred Anderson. Received the MBE from Prince Charles at Buckingham Palace last Friday. She was honoured for services to the community.
