Just wanted to test out my Gadget Infinity triggers to make sure they were working fine for this week, as I'll be on assignment and based on my locations I won't be able to trigger the flashes using Canon's trigger system.
So for today's photo I actually fired off the 4 speedlites just to make sure they were working. 2 speedlights were placed behind to the left and right of me to provide background texture to the wall as well as some rim light to either side of me. I barn doored the side that was facing the camera with some cardboard to prevent the flash from firing into the lens.
Another speedlight off camera left was shot through a grid to illuminate the lid of the computer. Then finally the 4th was shot with a snoot camera right at my face to try to lift the shadows just a tad as I wanted my face dark but not Darth Vader dark.

Some of the many Apple stuff I've collected throughout the years....funny how it goes from owning one iPod...then iPhone....then.......
Quad powered speaker, Windows PC, power conditioner, mic preamp, CDP/DAC, preamp, USB audio interface, (second) power conditioner.
The home studio is mainly being used as a music room now. When I was a kid, I wanted to be the synthesizer player in a new wave band, but I wasn't any good at the piano and all I really wanted to do was just twiddle around and make cool noises with the things. And frankly I would never look good with Nick Rhodes' hair. So, now, some 27 years later, I have dozens of virtual synths on my Mac, a keyboard with knobs, and the amazing Korg Kaoss Pad, and I can twiddle 24/7. Anyone want to start a new wave band?
These pictures don't show it, but the accordion is in this room as well. The next photo has some notes detailing the hardware, but that's Ableton Live 7 and Reaktor 5 currently on the screen.
It's not an office, but a bunch of portable devices on the dining table. Everything is mobile and here is where I get most of my work done when I'm home. When I'm finished I rearrange everything and leave the table empty. Although it's rarely used for eating, the habit of setting this up and storing it after work is good.

A photo I took in late 2013, not long after I'd completed my home microphone setup. Compare it to the way the same space looked a month earlier. I originally put it together for voice chat in online video games, but I ended up also using it to do my radio show from home.
The EV 309A shockmount proved to be too problematic to keep using. The rubber band bits fail too regularly and are insanely expensive to replace.
We have here two 1950's vintage microphones. The one on the right is an Electro Voice Mercury Model 611 and the one on the left is a Shure Unidyne 55S. Both original and completely functional. Both Hi-Z, though the Shure's impedance can actually be changed using a set screw on the rear bottom of the case. The Shure is mounted on a Shure A83B base/switch.
I recently used both microphones, plugged into a M-Audio MobilePre USB to record the bell-like ringing of a tapped milk glass lamp shade...in stereo.
The photo was taken with the Lumix G2, Olympus FL-36 flash, and Vivitar 135mm 1:2.8 Close Focus lens, in Canon FD mount.
AKAI MPC 5000, KORG MicroKorg, GRETSCH Electromatic, IBANEZ ValBee, SHURE SM 58, AKG K 141 studio, M AUDIO FireWire Solo, Moleskine.
This was my first time photographing a DJ, but I had a blast. It was also an interesting experiment with Nikon's "CLS" wireless flash capability, but I think it worked out.

It's been since October that I've been revising my home office setup. I've began doing sales work for 36tec (http://www.36tec.com). We're a website development company but we go a step further than that.
I'm running two Samsung 2494SW's off of a first generation dual Intel Xeon 2.66ghz Mac Pro with 2gb of RAM. A 250gb internal and an nVidia 7300GT. The screensaver is Fliqlo. They finally released the Snow Leopard version and I'm incredibly excited about that.
The audio monitors are M-Audio AV30's. The headphones picture are Grados SR80i's.
Next to the headphones is a Huey Pro. It calibrates the monitors color settings according to the lighting in my room automatically.
The phone on top of the left shelf is an iPevo Skype phone. I use this for all of my sales calls.
I will go through and mark anything else in the image that I didn't describe.

This workspace is in my dorm room. Being a college student in a dorm, I basically had to make do with what was given to me—I am not realistically capable of choosing my own desk, etc. This presented a challenge when I attempted to create a cordless workspace, but as it turned out, the desk that I had was pretty good for hiding cables, with a little ingenuity.
Equipment shown here: 23" Apple Cinema Display, Logitech MX Revolution mouse, Apple Wireless Keyboard, M-Audio BX5a Deluxe Monitors, an IKEA desk lamp, and backlighting provided by an IKEA Dioder setup (which can show a variety of colors: purple, blue, red, green, yellow, orange, white, cyan. or, it can fade between them, or, it can go through them in succession).

I make my own music.. I don't dance to the beat of someone else's drum.
I was the kid beating on the cafeteria tables and beat boxing during the freestyle cyphers in high school.. I was always more likely to remember a song from the beat than the lyrics. I've always had an ear for instrumentation and melody.
I took that love for music and computers and combined them. I normally make my beats in Reason, and record vocals and mix/master in Cubase, although I do use VSTs as well if the song calls for it... I've been truly producing now for 6 years..
Like my other love, photography, I'm constantly improving and constantly practicing.
I've worked w/ quite a few artists, some good, some bad, but all were made better after working w/ "The Doc".. Whether it be vocal production, improving their recording process, providing beats to flow/sing over, music industry consulting, mixing/mastering services, etc. I pride myself on helping artists improve in any area they're deficient..
One of the most known artists, and one that I devote most of my time to, Big Suave, "The Mayor of Oak Cliff Texas", aka "Suave Burgandy" is commonly found in my studio's booth..
