The cathedral was built between 1086 and 1093 during Norman times. Massive alterations were done between 1690 and 1694
This Mazar (Mausoleum) is located at Mokamtola in Dhamrai. A sufi saint is reported to be buried here who is revered by all, in general, and the "Bede" Community (nomadic boat people), in particular!
Each year in the Bangla month of "Magh" (January-February) Bedes gather for the annual "urs" at this Mazar!
I have applied blur effect to make it stand out!

The Jesuit College stands within the walled perimeter of the city's historic quarter.
Built in 1672 by the Jesuit Giacomo Napoli, it has an imposing and monumental Baroque façade, especially in the portal. Particularly noteworthy are the four telamons supporting the capitals, and the entablature on which the artistic corbels of the balcony above rest by means of volutes.
The fascinating ensemble of scenic and plastic character was realised through the use of the tuffaceous carving element.
The windows on the two-element elevation have different ornaments and a crowning cornice. However, there are many manifestations of artistic significance that convey the idea of grandeur, even in the secondary elevations. A portico with round arches on Doric limestone columns creates the admirable scenery of the square courtyard inside with its 24 columns and centred arches.
The wide marble staircase leading to the upper floor is remarkable, where some of the rooms retain frescoes by Domenico La Bruna in their vaults. The terracotta floors feature marble recurrences.
The premises house the Civic Museum, which consists of the archaeological, medieval and contemporary sections and houses a collection of works by Pietro Consagra.
Attached to the College was the former Church of Sant'Ignazio, built in 1701 with an elliptical plan, designed by Giacomo Italia, in ruins after the dome collapsed in 1936.

This mausoleum of Pakistan's first leader after partition, Mohammed Ali Jinnah (1876 - 1948). He did not live very long after his wish was achieved and died of tuberculosis in 1948. The mausoleum was designed in the 1960s modernist style and completed in 1971.
Jinnah is a controversial figure in history - a hero to some and a villain to others due to the turmoil that resulted after Partition.
Picture taken on a trip to Pakistan and Central Asia in August 2001. Karachi had a bit of a edgy feel to it when I visited, the events of September 11th in the US a month later led to the city becoming more dangerous after that.

In diesen Gegenden hatten Regierungsorgane (z.B. Polizei) wenig Einfluss.
