the road through camp 1 was called "codfish row". the camp is gone, what remains of the crumbling roadway now called Spreckelsville road. this is a view toward the corner from tutu's front yard, turn left to camp 2, turn right to camp 3 and NASKA (now Kahului airport) ...... all gone now.
hibiscus rosa-sinensis, my favorite flower... this pink variety called "maui wind" has put out a big, gorgeous new bloom today.

Maui, December 2009 - This was found a bit off the beaten path. On the way back up from playing in the guyser, I made a wrong turn and was rewarded with this memorable sight.
