En 1883, Claude Monet s'installe dans le village de Giverny, dans une maison qu'il loue puis achète en 1890. Il en modifie la forme et réaménage complètement le verger en jardin fleuri "Le clos normand". Il fera creuser en 1893, sur un bras de l'Epte, le bassin aux nénuphars au bord duquel il peindra les "Nymphéas".

Balaenoptera physalus
This close relative of the blue whale swims in the cold Humboldt Current along the Chilean coast. Its nutrient-rich water can satisfy its daily requirement of krill and small schooling fish of up to 2 tonnes. The fin and blowhole are clearly recognisable. The fin whale is the second largest animal on earth and can be found in all oceans.

Balaenoptera physalus
Der enge Verwandte des Blauwals schwimmt im kalten Humboldtstrom entlang der chilenischen Küste. Sein nähstoffreiches Wasser kann den Tagesbedarf an Krill und kleinen Schwarmfischen von bis zu 2 Tonnen befriedigen. Deutlich zu erkennen sind die Finne und das Blasloch. Der Finnwal ist das zweitgrößte Tier der Erde und kommt in allen Ozeanen vor.

In total, 5 siblings were rescued together with their mom when they were just one week old, by the Norwegian Society of Protection of animals in April. They were found among some insulation on a construction site.
I photographed them all last week, when they were 5.5 weeks old. Here is Miley in front. Her siblings are called Matheo, Mindy, Milas og Miam, and their mom Millie.

Ils ne se cherchent pas, mais ils se trouvent.
Ils parlent sans jamais tout dire, devinent sans poser de questions.
Une phrase laissée en suspens, que l'autre complète sans efforts.
Parfois, il y a des coïncidences, des synchros qui se calquent l'une sur l'autre.
C'est dans ce genre de détails invisible pour les autres mais pas pour eux que tout commence. ♥

Gardiki in Corfu is a low foothill of the Agios Matheos mountain range on which stands the ruined Byzantine fortress. It was built as part of a ring of fortifications around the island, of which today only this one, Angelokastro and Cassiopi remain.
Gardiki Castle was constructed in the 13th century by the Despote of Epirus, Michael Angelos II, who also built Angelokastro. The fortress is octagonal in shape and it has got a tower in every corner. What is particularly interesting here is the relics of ancient temples, which are embedded in its fortifications. The bordering parapets were adorned with traditional Byzantine artworks. The vestiges that one can see on the right hand side of the main entrance are believed to belong to the in-house chapel.
It is not known when and why the castle was abandoned, but certainly in the 16th century after Barbarossa's attack (1537) it was already deserted.

When Matheos plays, you're shivering in the cold. Cyprus was 40 degrees Celsius. Why isn't there such an artist in Central Europe? Only the very conservative note writers. Or zombies in the pop field.

D’un geste sûr et assumé, il dissimule les formes de sa femme, non par jalousie, mais par une protection instinctive, naturelle. Il affirme son rôle, marque son territoire sans un mot, simplement par sa présence. Il ne cache pas par crainte, mais par domination, par appartenance. Elle est sienne, sous son regard, sous sa main, sous sa protection. Et dans ce geste silencieux, il exprime ce que les mots n’ont pas besoin de dire.

Aux yeux du monde, ils formaient un couple comme les autres. Un homme au charisme indéchiffrable, une femme au mental d'acier. Ensemble, ils semblaient tissés d’un même fil, une harmonie silencieuse que personne ne remettait en question.
Mais dans l’ombre, tout était différent.
Il était son monde, son repère, celui qui dictait le rythme de leur relation. Il ne parlait jamais trop fort, ne haussait jamais la voix. Il n’en avait pas besoin. Son regard suffisait à imposer son autorité, à lui rappeler qu’elle lui appartenait comme il lui appartenait. Pas par obligation, mais par une connexion profonde, viscérale.
