Mit seinen fließenden und kippenden Wänden ist das Marta im ostwestfälischen Herford eines der ungewöhnlichsten Museumsbauwerke weltweit. Für die Fassade wählte der amerikanische Star-Architekt Frank Gehry dunkelrote Backsteine, die im Kontrast stehen zum hellen Edelstahldach und dem weiß verputzten Gebäudekern.

With its flowing and tilting walls, the Marta in Herford in eastern Westphalia is one of the most unusual museum buildings in the world. For the façade, the American star architect Frank Gehry chose dark red bricks that contrast with the light stainless steel roof and the white plastered building core.
