The wind was howling and this lovely was standing tall against the wall, while the rest of the family were getting up the strength to bloom themselves.
Rescued from the scrapyard in 2009 - one of the "Lost Engines of Roanoke". This Norfolk and Western steam locomotive was built by the N&W Roanoke Shops in 1911.
N&W M2c No. 1151 is the only surviving Roanoke-built M2c 4-8-0, and one of the Lost Engines of Roanoke. Having sat in a salvage yard the drivers and brakes appear to be a bit worse off for exposure to weather over the years. The brakes look as worn as a set off my race car after a weekend of racing.
