In the 1st century, fresh lychees were in such demand at the Imperial Court that a special courier service with fast horses would bring the fresh fruit from Guangdong. There was great demand for lychee in the Song Dynasty (960-1279), according to Cai Xiang, in his Li chi pu (Treatise on Lychees). just put on a glass strawberry syrup, lychees, ice cubes and add with soda water ( 7Up ), so fresh :)
My daughters went with some friends to an Asian supermarket. I asked them to bring back something fun for me, and they brought me lychees. A new fruit to taste and photograph always makes me happy..
