Mont Batok
Le mont Batok est un cône de scories situé dans l'est de Java , en Indonésie . Ce volcan a une altitude de 2 440 mètres (8 005 pieds) au-dessus du niveau de la mer et est situé entre quatre régences : Probolinggo Regency , Pasuruan Regency , Lumajang Regency et Malang Regency . L'emplacement du mont Batok est à l'ouest du mont Bromo. Cette montagne est l'un des volcans inactifs situés dans la caldeira du Tengger. Le mont Batok fait partie du parc national de Bromo Tengger Semeru .
En javanais , batok signifie " coque de noix de coco ". Le peuple Tenggerese croit que le mont Batok a été formé à partir d'une coquille de noix de coco qui a été frappée par Resi Bima, un géant puissant, après avoir échoué à remplir les conditions proposées par Rara Anteng pour l'épouser.

Mount Batok is a cinder cone located in East Java, Indonesia. The volcano has an elevation of 2,440 metres (8,005 feet) above sea level and is located between four regencies: Probolinggo Regency, Pasuruan Regency, Lumajang Regency and Malang Regency. The location of Mount Batok is west of Mount Bromo. This mountain is one of the inactive volcanoes located in the Tengger caldera. Mount Batok is part of the Bromo Tengger Semeru National Park.
In Javanese, batok means "coconut shell". The Tenggerese people believe that Mount Batok was formed from a coconut shell that was struck by Resi Bima, a powerful giant, after he failed to fulfil the conditions proposed by Rara Anteng to marry her

El monte Batok es un cono de cenizas situado en Java Oriental, Indonesia. El volcán tiene una altitud de 2.440 metros sobre el nivel del mar y se encuentra entre cuatro regencias: la de Probolinggo, la de Pasuruan, la de Lumajang y la de Malang. La ubicación del monte Batok está al oeste del monte Bromo. Esta montaña es uno de los volcanes inactivos situados en la caldera de Tengger. El monte Batok forma parte del Parque Nacional de Bromo Tengger Semeru.
En javanés, batok significa "cáscara de coco". Los tangerinos creen que el monte Batok se formó a partir de una cáscara de coco que golpeó Resi Bima, un poderoso gigante, tras no cumplir las condiciones propuestas por Rara Anteng para casarse con ella.

Un temple hindou, le Pura Luhur Poten, fut érigé au pied du mont Bromo pour accueillir les cérémonies en faveur des dieux. Car contrairement au reste de l’île de Java majoritairement musulmane, les habitants de la région de Tengger ont conservé leur religion hindouiste. Une fois par an, à l’occasion du festival de Yadnya Kasada, les habitants des villages voisins se réunissent au temple pour célébrer et honorer les dieux. Ils présentent et confectionnent pour l’occasion de multiples offrandes, et réalisent des sacrifices.
Poten est une zone sacrée de terre dans la " Mer de Sable " ( Javanais : Segara Wedi ou Indonésien : Lautan Pasir ), qui devient le lieu du festival Kasada. Sur la plaine de sable, appelée localement Segara Wedi (lit. océan de sable), se trouve un temple hindou appelé Pura Luhur Poten . Le temple organise le rituel Yadnya Kasada qui dure environ un mois. Le 14ème jour, les Tenggerese se rassemblent à Pura Luhur Poten pour demander la bénédiction d'Ida Sang Hyang Widi Wasa et du Dieu de Mahameru ( Mont Semeru ). Le temple se compose de plusieurs bâtiments et enceintes disposés selon un arrangement de composition dans la cour qui est divisée en trois mandala (zone),Mandala Utama , Mandala Madya et Mandala Nista .
Yadnya Kasada , également connu sous le nom de Kesodo , est un rituel hindou traditionnel du peuple Tenggerese , un sous-groupe ethnique des Javanais . Le rituel sert à exprimer sa reconnaissance à leurs dieux, qui, selon eux, leur ont accordé bénédictions, abondance et bien-être. Les Tenggerese vivent dans soixante villages autour des montagnes de Tengger ( mont Bromo ) dans le parc national de Bromo Tengger Semeru , comprenant les régences de Probolinggo, Lumajang et Pasuruan, ainsi que la ville de Malang

A l'horizon le Sumeru avec petit panache de fumée
Le bilan de l’éruption du volcan indonésien Semeru, plus haut sommet de l’île de Java, s’est alourdi, avec 39 morts, ont annoncé mercredi 8 décembre les autorités, alors que les secours poursuivaient leurs efforts pour retrouver d’autres corps. Douze personnes sont portées disparues, a annoncé l’Agence indonésienne de recherche et de sauvetage.
Le Semeru s’est réveillé samedi 7/12 /2021 , projetant des nuages de cendres qui se sont transformés avec la pluie en flots de boue brûlante. Plus de 4 000 habitants ont dû être évacués et se réfugier dans des abris temporaires. Beaucoup parmi eux souffrent de toux, d’infection pulmonaire et de diarrhées, selon le personnel médical intervenant dans les abris du district de Lumajang (est de l’île de Java).L’éruption a également fait des dizaines de blessés, la plupart souffrant de brûlures. Des rues entières ont été ensevelies par des amas de cendres grises et de boue, recouvrant des camions ou des maisons jusqu’au toit.

……………………………. The death toll from the eruption of Indonesia's Semeru volcano, the island's highest peak, has risen to 39, authorities said on Wednesday as rescue efforts continued to find more bodies. Twelve people are missing, the Indonesian Search and Rescue Agency said.
The Semeru woke up on Saturday 7/12 /2021 , throwing up clouds of ash that turned into streams of burning mud with the rain. More than 4,000 inhabitants had to be evacuated and take refuge in temporary shelters. Many of them are suffering from coughs, lung infections and diarrhoea, according to medical staff working in shelters in Lumajang district (East Java). The eruption also left dozens of people injured, most of them suffering from burns. Entire streets were buried by piles of grey ash and mud, covering trucks and houses to the roof.

El número de muertos por la erupción del volcán Semeru de Indonesia, el pico más alto de la isla, ha aumentado a 39, según informaron las autoridades el miércoles, mientras continuaban las labores de rescate para encontrar más cadáveres. Doce personas están desaparecidas, dijo la Agencia de Búsqueda y Rescate de Indonesia.
El Semeru se despertó el sábado 7/12 /2021 , lanzando nubes de ceniza que se convirtieron en arroyos de barro ardiente con la lluvia. Más de 4.000 habitantes tuvieron que ser evacuados y refugiarse en albergues temporales. Muchos de ellos padecen tos, infecciones pulmonares y diarrea, según el personal médico que trabaja en los refugios del distrito de Lumajang (Java Oriental). La erupción también dejó decenas de heridos, la mayoría de ellos con quemaduras. Calles enteras quedaron sepultadas por montones de ceniza gris y barro, que cubrieron camiones y casas hasta el techo.

Ranupane is the name of a lake in a fertile agricultural village. Located on the slopes of Mount Semeru at an altitude of 2200 M above sea level.
This village is the base camp to start the climb to Mount Semeru (3767 M above sea level).
