Imported decades ago in the hope of controlling aphids, these Asian Lady Beetles are not true ladybugs at all. In fact, they multiply better than rabbits, and are considered to be one of the world's most invasive species. They are detrimental to native ladybugs. Very difficult to identify because of their variations in dots and colour, the tell-tale sign of an Asian Lady Beetle is that (POV) "M" or "W" on the head.

20 seconds at F22 side light was with my Mobile phone light, pomegranate resting on a black dinner mat and also one has a backdrop
Back in the archive finding some tree shots from the first real snow fall this year. Yesterday was another great day with 15 centimeters of nice new snow on the ground and elsewhere, will post in a couple of days when processing is done.
This couple were the spitting images of the Duke & Duchess of Sussex .More affectionately known as "Harry" and "Meg"..They were seen on the parade at The Hull Pride event in Hull City Centre.
Sweet little Ophelia stopped by the farm today, enjoying the lovely fall weather. She likes to see the alpacas, who are also curious about her. She's about six months old and is growing into a fine young lady.

Red-bellied Woodpeckers are pale, medium-sized woodpeckers common in forests of the East. Their strikingly barred backs and gleaming red caps make them an unforgettable sight – just resist the temptation to call them Red-headed Woodpeckers, a somewhat rarer species that's mostly black on the back with big white wing patches. Learn the Red-bellied's rolling call and you’ll notice these birds everywhere.
The active little Downy Woodpecker is a familiar sight at backyard feeders and in parks and woodlots, where it joins flocks of chickadees and nuthatches, barely outsizing them. An often acrobatic forager, this black-and-white woodpecker is at home on tiny branches or balancing on slender plant galls, sycamore seed balls, and suet feeders.
