Many thanks to all those who fave or comment always very much appreciated

Imported decades ago in the hope of controlling aphids, these Asian Lady Beetles are not true ladybugs at all. In fact, they multiply better than rabbits, and are considered to be one of the world's most invasive species. They are detrimental to native ladybugs. Very difficult to identify because of their variations in dots and colour, the tell-tale sign of an Asian Lady Beetle is that (POV) "M" or "W" on the head.

PLEASE: Do not post any comment graphics, they will be deleted. See info in my bio.

The Indian pond heron (ardeola grayii) presents a fairly uniform mottled brown appearance when standing. When taking flight, you could be forgiven for thinking you are watching a white egret on the wing. Photographed in Khao Lak, Phang Nga, Thailand.

A late evening in Cuba, a fresh edit on a short taken a while back

Sweet little Ophelia stopped by the farm today, enjoying the lovely fall weather. She likes to see the alpacas, who are also curious about her. She's about six months old and is growing into a fine young lady.

I do love similarity in nature, such as corals and deltas, or forests and watermarks in sand, but this ivy seed head resembling the current pandemic virus is just a little bit disturbing.

This couple were the spitting images of the Duke & Duchess of Sussex .More affectionately known as "Harry" and "Meg"..They were seen on the parade at The Hull Pride event in Hull City Centre.

Toy Project Day 3758

Little Stint is the smallest regularly-occurring wader in Britain. The shortish bill, dark legs, small size and pale tramlines down the back help identify this as Little Stint (though there are a few rare lookalikes). We generally use Dunlin as our yardstick for comparing waders and at 24g Little Stint is half the weight of a Dunlin. It is not a particularly common bird in Britain with about 770 records annually, but the vast majority of these are juvenile birds on Autumn passage. There are quite a few juveniles in Britain at the moment but this one is an adult en route from Africa to its tundra breeding grounds which I photographed on the shores of a Pennine reservoir in spring. There were a couple of Dunlin nearby but it was feeding by itself. The only bird I saw alongside was a Pied Wagtail which looked similar-sized, but I've checked and is about 3g lighter (21g v 24g). Little Stints have never bred in Britain but a handful spend the winter here. So they are largely a bird of Autumn passage in Britain.

Yep... Me and my celebrity buddies!

When I came up this pass before sunset, there was a mix out of rain and sun. I parked my car, went for a stroll and saw the rainbow in the distance. I grabbed my camera, ran to a pond because I liked the scene and fired off some shots. After a couple of seconds the magic was gone. No time for filters, tripod or anything.

Neither photo taken by me, I think I found the dog on flickr, I hope its ok to do this - but as soon as I saw this little dog I thought of David Jason, I think they look like each other. Does anyone agree? I tried to see if there were any groups that have people and animals that look alike, but I couldn't find any. It would be interesting, wouldn't it?
