HMM... the macro monday theme for today, 11/4, is brands and logos. a little explanation you say?? about 30 years ago i bought one of those big videocameras and started a sideline- taping special events. my BFF suggested the name since my last name is lane. (hey, 30 years ago it was pretty darn clever and not at all hackneyed.) ... so i came up with this design using a teddy bear graphic i stumbled upon and adding the clapboard. had business cards made up and even found a company that made your business card into a watch face. both of those things will be in the first comment box shortly.

Nach dem großen Regen: Während es im Norden des Elsass noch schüttet und – teils ähnlich dramatisch wie im nahen Saarland – das Land überflutet, drückt von Süden, passend zum Sonnenaufgang, ein kleines Zwischenhoch mit viel Sonnenschein und klarster Luft herein. Glück zum Ersten.
Auch hat der Starkregen auf der Vogesenstrecke Straßburg – Saales – Saint-Dié keine Überflutung, keine Unterspülung, keinen Hangrutsch oder ähnliches Ungemach ausgelöst. So können die beiden mit BB 67400 bespannten Züge dieses Samstagmorgens ungehindert zur zweitägigen Pfingstruhe an den Rhein zurückkehren. Glück zum Zweiten.
Am Nordportal des bis 1947 noch zweigleisigen Rothauer Tunnels rauscht, trieft und gluckst es aus allen Richtungen – unten der Fluss, aber auch in der Röhre tropft und fließt reichlich Wasser, als die BB 67599 mit dem TER 31855 aus dem Dunkel hervortritt. Übrigens nicht ohne nach anständiger SNCF-Gepflogenheit kräftig zu pfeifen (tief/hoch – hoch/tief). Die Führerstandsfenster sind auffällig beschlagen – ob es über Nacht hineingeregnet hat?
Für mein Empfinden ist die BB 67599 eine wunderbare Lok mit ihrem klassischen Blau und wohldosierten Gebrauchsspuren. Das mittig angebrachte SNCF-Logo verrät, dass sie keine Straßburger Traditionslok ist. Vor etwa zwei Jahren kam sie aus Longeau ins Elsass und brachte nochmal Bewegung in den Lokbestand. Mal sehen, wie lange sich das derzeit fünf Maschinen umfassende Ensemble noch halten kann. Prognosen zur verbleibenden Einsatzdauer gebe ich nach mehr als zehn Jahren lieber nicht mehr ab ;-)

I really liked the faded color of the paint and the texture of the old painting.
