Meet Peter, owner + founder of @boydconstruction - a 2017 CRA Grant recipient. A fourth generation general contractor (Boyd's great grandfather started a construction company in 1911 - also named Boyd Construction) moved to St. Pete from Indiana in 2008 with just he and his truck.

"I truly believe if I would have moved somewhere else, we wouldn't be where we are today. We've grown with this city. So when we can, we peel back the layers and use inspiration from the building's history. It's not always easy, but it's worth it!"

Boyd is responsible for the unique build out of Ichicoro ANE at Station House, @fabricapizza, @_readingroom_, @ilritornodowntown, @thebodyelectricyoga + many more booming local businesses.

#BurgBiz // Meet Cody + Janna, owners of @stpeterunningco, a running store that is so much more than a running store. These two have created a health + wellness community in West St. Pete. A few years ago, they moved from Australia (w/ a quick stop in Charlotte) to St. Pete with only $800 - the first store front they looked at was the one they are in today and they immediately knew the Sunshine City was home.

#BurgBiz // Meet Mike + Taylor, the minds and hands behind Florida's first canned cold brew, @MadeCoffee - 'made' in St. Pete. You've probably seen these cool cans all over the 'burg - but the story behind-the-can is pretty epic. The idea for a specialty coffee biz was born while working at a local craft cocktail joint, but the vessel was the true innovative approach. Made is now sold in 70+ retail spaces and lots of fitness centers - it can now also be found in several Tampa Bay @Publix stores (woo hoo!). This hands-on team stocks the shelves themselves.

Why cans? It's simple - they are convenient, easy to handle, have a long shelf life and provide that grab-and-go feeling that our society loves. Their equipment is even made local by fellow BurgBiz feature BrewFab LLC, who makes equipment for many breweries in the area. Needless to say, Mike + Taylor - you're doing a CANtastic job. In just 18 months, the tech startup has grown from 0-100 employees, with a pathway to 150+ by the end of 2018. To support their rapid expansion they’ve taken over the newly renovated 3rd floor of First Central Tower in downtown St. Pete.
