Luchtsingel

The Luchtsingel (a wooden pedestrian bridge) connects Rotterdam North to the center and revitalizes a forgotten area. This part of the city did not count for years and was dominated by vacancy and neglection.

The Luchtsingel is being realized by crowdfunding, an exciting new means of funding in which the public donates money via an online platform in order to make a project reality. The footbridge, which uses the slogan “the more you donate, the longer the bridge”, has resonated with the public imagination and surpassed its initial funding goals, becoming an important part of Rotterdam’s urban rejuvenation.

An interesting effect with this water pattern on stainless steel kitchen sink...the light from a nearby window reflects blue off the stainless steel which makes it appear as if the blue side is the water

Bridge to Nowhere is a nickname used to refer to various unfinished structures around the M8 motorway in the centre of Glasgow, Scotland. They were built in the 1960s as part of the Glasgow Inner Ring Road project but left incomplete for several years. The Anderston Footbridge, a pedestrian bridge south of St Patrick's church, was finally completed in 2013 as part of a walking and cycling route
