Last evening was the annual Light up the Night at the labyrinth. Some kids had glow sticks or other lights which showed up a bit in long exposures.

Rusty barbed wire lines these fields
Gravel dust behind the wheels
Drifting like my mind into the rearview
Jet trails cutting across the sky
I'm rolling through the open wide
Searching for a song to drink beer to
And trying to find a place to disappear to
Embers in the ashtray glow
like memories that won't let go
I'm out here trying to get 'em untangled
In the darkness on the edge of town
A little lost, a little found
Waiting on a call from an angel
I light up the night and let it burn
Lean back and watch the sundown fade
Do what I do when life's a little sideways
I take a sip and say a prayer
Wait for a shooting star and stare
Off at the headlights on the highway
That guy in the windshield looking back looks just like me
But there's a crack in the reflection
This is just a moonlight soaked, ring of smoke
Right hand on a cold one confession

Photographed on July 4th overlooking downtown Raleigh, North Carolina, USA. The skyline is beautiful at night and the colorful shimmer wall added a bit of magic to the city lights.

Gleam, Olbrich Botanical Gardens, Madison, Wisconsin.
Gleam - Art in New Light consists of multiple artist installations that light up the night in Olbrich Botanical Gardens. Attendees follow a dimly lighted path through the gardens passing from one installation to another.
Artists Katherine Cannistra and Geoff Landrum describe their three installations: "The Atomic Forest is comprised of free-standing "trees," each with floral attributes, at the top of a "stem." A canopy of networked LEDs animates patterns that visualize the nano-processes of our digital interconnectedness."
Hello again! It's been a while since I last post here... life sort of got in the way for a while, as it has a habit of doing!
Anyway, the photo. One of the few night shots I've uploaded here since I'm still not 100% happy with how they come out. I was fairly pleased with this one though, especially with the fountains which I feel add something here rather than, as they usually do, getting in the way!

Thousands of points of light are born as ArtPrize volunteers light Chineese lanterns and release them over the Grand River. This was seen last Friday evening.

Not my best night shot, but I love this behaviour done at night like this.

Main Street 27/12/2025 19h56
After the light and fireworks show "Light Up the Night," the crowds headed towards the exit through the beautifully lit Main Street. There was also a meet & greet with the Walibi Coolest Friends, including Walibi and Santa. For us, it was truly the end of the season. Or perhaps the beginning of the 2026 season.
