5 day family roadf trip from Las Vegas to Tuscon & return...an afternoon of rock climbing (Robin & Kim) near Cochise Stronghold, just N of Tombstone...brilliant sunset colours...
WORK: FDI..Kahntah (Fort Nelson)...this is one of the largest lakes in the area..and likely very shallow I assume...
an evening at Crescent Dunes near Tonopah, Nevada...sunset over the Crescent Dunes 110 MW Solar Thermal Power generating station...
Pure Photoshopped fantasy with two or three overlaid slides, some filtering, and the infamous lens flare effect... I normally shy away from such over-processed pictures -- it's not even a real photograph anymore -- but this was an experiment I find surprisingly appealing to me on some level.

From a beautiful original by nign 2007-2008 titled, tulip.
I loved this photo so much. I thought the composition was very nice...and I love tulips:)) they remind me of spring...which is just around the corner here. I used the magic wand on this fix to select out the background. It took a couple clicks of the wand (with the shift key held down) to select it all. Once I had everything selected, I chose inverse...and then copied that portion to a new layer. I added quite a bit of contrast to this layer to try and bring out some more color, and make it more vibrant. I then added some gradients of color on two new layers between the flower and background. These new layers I used as a soft light and hard light mode, and adjusted the opacity.
I then used the lasso tool with a feather of about 22 pixels to select the center portion and stamin. I copied this to another layer and applied even more contrast. I also used a spotlight on the original background, and had the light tinted yellow. Thank you so much nign2007-2008, for letting me work on your beautiful photo, I really enjoyed it:)
I may go back and tweak the edges some more too. Thanks again!
