Here's an alternative version with a slightly opaque copy of the original shot placed over all the layers to give it a little colour lift.

Hah...got that reflection on front view....I was carrying and propping all around the quarry to get the right angle.
Got a few strange looks.
Suspenders or bracers in opened packaging. Focus on leather strap and metal grip. Selective focus. Ivory background.

The photographer had asked to work on some of the textures some as well as details on the face. I used mostly the lasso tool to select portions of the image andded some contrast and sharpening to bring out the details. I liked the hich contrast of the lighting, but toned it down some with darkening layers.
I added some line work on a couple layers using different light modes. I was just showing some examples, this is on seperate layers, so I can easily remove it too. I converted the image to a duotone after flattening, using a marroon as the highlight color.
