Lovely sunset on my walk home. Fortunately I had my camera with me.

Völkerball is a New Deutsche Härte band based in Oberlarh near Bonn and performing exclusively Rammstein covers. The band lineup is René Anlauff (vocals), Tobias Kaiser and Björn Müller (guitars), Andreas Schanowski (keyboards), Tilmann Carbow (bass) and Dirk Oechsle (drums). Völkerball's music is basically Rammstein's music (the band bills itself as "a tribute to Rammstein") and the theatrics are a close match, so fans looking for a very similar experience on a smaller scale should give it a try. Völkerball maintains two websites, www.weichen-und-zunder.de and www.voelkerball.eu, as well Facebook, www.facebook.com/voelkerball, and Youtube presence, www.youtube.com/user/VOELKERVISION.

These photos were taken during Völkerball's performance at the Rhein in Flammen in Bonn, an annual festival of music and entertainment and fireworks display held in towns and cities along the river Rhein (in English Rhine). Took in Muckroom garden, Co Kerry, Ireland.

I thought this was a very cool photo. I used the lasso toll with a fairly strong feather and selected the lights to the right. I pasted this to a new layer and used the distort function to add more perspective and length to the streaks, then I did some motion blurring to the portion. I duplicated this a couple times and applied some soft and hard light applications with different opacities.

I also used the lasso tool to select the models face. I softened and brightened this on several layers and used the hue/saturation to try and get the heavy red cast out. I also used the lasso to brighten and contrast her eyes some. I thought they were very pretty.

Since today is kind of a special day, so many things happening, like Valentine's day, the Chinese new years, and it also happens to be my birthday, I tried to make this shot a little bit special, too.

Bought some cake from the store and some of those little candles and set them up on my balcony table.

Closed all the shades so it would be pitch black and I could work with decent exposures.

And this here is the outcome. All of a sudden the candle started going mental and releasing those sparks every now and then. Which as we can see, turned out pretty damn awesome!

So all my Flickr buddies, happy valentines to you! And happy Chinese new years, too!

As as side note, I know that "happy birthday to me" would make more sense but I just liked the way it looks.

Oh, and as for what I want for birthday... um... getting to Explore wouldn't be all that bad. xD

I thought this was a very cool photo. I used mostly the lasso tool and a little airbrush eraser for this. I first added a bit of red and blue to the entire image to try and tone down the yellow cast I used the lasso to select portions of her skin and softened them on a seperate layer. I then selected her shirt and darkened a bit plus added some sharpening to bring out the ribbing more.

I added some swirls of light on a couple new layers and applied them as soft and hard light mode, usng the airbrush eraser to blend them in somewhat. I selected her eye using the lasso tool with a very strong feather and lightened ot some. I reworked the eye with the airbrush tool. I also selected her earring and brightened it quite a bit to try and get a metallic look to it.

The idea came to me while I was watching this movie. I took the movie poster and tried to recreate it right down to the "lighted" headlights effect. I took my 1/24 scale Camaro and made the neccessary angles. Below is what the original poster looked like.
